Hey guys, Im looking for a small Marine GPS system with mapping. I fish on Smith Lake and just looking for GPS system with map of the lake.
I have fishfinders but mine does NOT have a GPS system or maps. Basically looking for a stand alone portable mapping system so I can know exactly where I am on the lake and for those foggy AMS.
Thanks ODO

An option, get a handheld 220 Garmin from a dog gps. I use mine all the time for hunting and fishing. Mark spots, and great mapping system.

I have a system for marking spots...Im looking for one with Lake maps, contours, submerged stuff. I fish Smith Lake so really looking for one that shows that lake in detail.

Another option is to download a navigation chart app for your phone that covers the lake. Many do and will be MUCH cheaper than buying a dedicated unit. Thanks. OLD AC180 steered me to the Navionics app. I downloaded Smith Lake and it is a real good map! Also in speaking to him and Klay it appears my Garmin Stryker plus 7 is a great fishfinder, however its poor on maps. However the Lowrance HOOK 4 unit up front by my trolling motor comes with over 3000 lake maps. Im going to buy a new mount for $20 and a new set of tranponder/power cables and hook those up on my console next to the Garmin. I can use it for the maps and navigating, then just unhook it and move it to the front mount when trolling. Saves me from buying another by just moving that one. I really appreciate all the helps guys!
