The duck hunting is so bad down here right now even the crooked money hungry outfitters are cancelling hunts. By far the worst I've ever seen it. I drove from my house all the way to Cameron this morning and other than a few scaup, I didn't see any ducks at all. It's very concerning as to what's happening with the ducks.
hate to hear that. I use to hunt that area years ago and the number Of ducks you would see on the drive in was a sight to see

Hopefully this cold weather will send some more of them south.

I keep hearing of some areas in MS wearing them out. I've seen pics of straps full of mallards killed in the green timber around White Oaks lands. I reliving ht e90's once again, I guess I'm about to get after deer once again!

I’m headed to Arkansas tomorrow. They killed a few this morning and cold weather is coming this weekend so I’m going to give it a try.

Reelfoot numbers are way way way WAAAAAAY down. They get a day here and there where they do some killing but that's one here one there it has NOT been consistent at all. Probably averaging 10-15 per day. That's a 2 man limit from a blind that shoots 12 people.

Friend of mine left yesterday and hunted all day today in Central AR. ZERO ducks seen....ZERO. I have had a broken ankle since first weekend in Dec. Got cleared by the MD to put moderate weight on my ankle. Loaded up with tape, braces and other athletic wraps and will depart for AR on Sunday. Going to try and hunt or guard the cooler at camp, either way its time to get back in the game. Hoping this storm that is rolling through KS, MO and other Mid-Western states is pushing the ducks South into AR. Hearing some reports that they are moving ahead of and South of the storm. Hope to give a good report. After I get back, its wood ducks and deer in South Alabama.

I hunted near Stuttgart this morning. Ducks were flying just wouldn’t come in to our set up. Shot four times. Going to try again in the morning.

Janet and i were leaving tomorrow for 3 days of hunting in AR. My buddy called and said don't bother. They shot a boot lip and a spec in 4 days. Never even flipped safety off. Nothing in the timber or fields. So, gonna deer hunt here.

Just got back from hunting around Jonesboro for a couple days. Killed 12 total. Pretty tough hunting. There are a few birds but you gotta go find them. Nothing in the timber though. More birds were coming in the morning we left. Need some more cold weather.

It's getting to where the DD area isn't even worth thinking about until the last 2 weeks of the season.

Doc, probably should of gone. I started hearing yesterday that some groups were working like new birds. Patchy, but still better than its been.

I have a friend that was on a high dollar hunt in Arkansas. It sounded pretty rough out there this weekend.

Well, I just got back from AR hunting in Lonoke near Stuttgart. Hunted Friday, Saturday and Sunday and shot a total of six times. Nothing would come into our set.

Time to focus on deer hunting.

Let me know how you do. We just got back from hunt national forest. Hunting was tough due to so much water but there are some birds around.

Hope you get em Sat morning. Some natural water still left with Sunflower, Yazoo, Quiver and Big Black Rivers dropping out. All field water probly gonna freeze in that area Sun and Mon morning.

I'm looking forward to the mud freezing...makes travel and putting out the goose decoys way more better.

Got back last night from Central Arkansas. Worst I have ever seen it. There are some ducks and plenty of geese in the area, but the ducks are extremely call shy. Four groups of four hunted Monday AM and killed a total of 16 ducks. Three groups of four hunted Tuesday AM and there were two ducks and one Spec killed. I hunted a timber hole off the Cache River on Monday, saw a lot of high fliers and had one small group of mallards come in but never would commit. Hunted a flooded rice field on Tuesday. Had about 4,000 Specs/Snows land in the next field over and then had about 300 ducks join the geese over the next two hours. Mixture of Widgeon, Teal, Mallards and Gads. Outside of that there were no other ducks in the area. Very little shooting. The place were we hunting normal produces.

Hope the snow from last week and the arctic cold coming down late this week will finally push them down. If there is going to be a good time, Sunday and Monday may be it. That's what those folks out there are hoping for.
