I recently picked on up on a trade. Production date of 1977. Really good shape other than the original mag is gone. Value's are all over the place. What is middle of the road value for this pistol. I may not have it long as I think I can make a little profit on it.

I'm thinking $800-$1,000 for a blue .45 in vg-ex condition with original grips. Satin Nickel seems to add a little and the 9mm's seem to bring more than the 45's.

That's the impression I'm getting. Anything under 800 would be a good deal for one.

Unless it's in new shape, I'd be surprised to see one bring that much. I had one I bought around 86 and sold for $400. It jammed terribly. even after a trip to a gunsmith twice. Mine was blue, not stainless.

They didn't make a stainless in 1977. Chrome plated or blue is all so yours must have been a newer model. Also, part of the value is that it's a serial number in the 7's.

one of the guns I sold that I wish I hadn't. 70 series blue Lightweight Commander, 45ACP, Gold Cup hammer, sear, and trigger. Night sights.

not too much gun....damn higher ups at DCNR decided my 1911 was UNSAFE and I couldn't carry it working. I did carry it as back up to a Dan Wesson 357 I carried. The Dept had issued me a S&W Model 10 38 Spcl with a broken opening latch and told meet "do what ever I was man enough to back up"....EXACT WORDS. I got the 357 soon after. Till Dept issued S&W 66 357s.
Same folks wouldn't let me carry a Glock but did let me carry a S&W Sigma(samedamnpistol). and then issued boat anchor Beretta 96s in 40 S&W. I carried the Sigma.
