2002 Rancher 350 leaking at new petcock connection because nut is slipping in plastic tank. Very small leak.

JB weld could probably fix this for you I'd try it before I bought a new tank what's the worst that could happen you could tear up a tank you already planned to replace? Won’t work. Had the same issue on mine and had to get a new tank.

I've used Kreem in metal tanks and it worked very well, as in I never had another leak. Not sure if it works on plastic but here's the link... http://www.kreem.com/fueltankliner.html
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. Mine wasn’t a hole in the tank itself. The problem was the brass bushing that is molded into the plastic. Once it breaks loose and free spins, you can’t properly torque the bolts done on the petcock valve to properly seal it.

Yep. I couldn’t find a used one and had to get a new one. Dealer here in town quoted me a price of over $700. Found one online for half that, but that was still ridiculous.
