I bought a 5th wheel camper that I lived in for two years. I have been thinking about buying a small piece of land that borders or is a short drive to some National Forest or WMA land. I will preface that by saying that I currently don't have a vehicle to pull this camoer so I am looking for a place I can park and leave it. I am Madison, AL so I was thinking near Skyline but I have never been out there There is also Bankhead, and a few other options. I wouldn't need much land but I don't know if anyone would even sell something like that. I was thinking an acre or less. If I could purchase something like this I would likely build a shed over the roof to keep the camper in good shape. Has anyone done this? What's the best way to find land similar to what was described (Online or just driving around and calling)?

I'd sell the camper and use the money to pay for gas or a good club near you.

Thats one option. Another option I found that works great is to rent an apartment close enough by with a couple of other folk on a short lease. We just keep lawn furniture, tv, and foam mattresses and it works out awesome.

Along those same lines, we rented a house on the Kansas lease and also on one of the Georgia leases. Works well for our group. Landowner and neighbors help watch it.

Most WMAs and national forest sites have a camping area. I would check into that and see.

I wouldn’t sell the camper. I think you can find an acre or 2 and make a jam up camp. Just my .02.
