Thanks for the suggestions. Yeah, I need to get out there with her and Beadlescomb, but anytime I go with him I don't see any squirrels, I think I'm bad luck I think I'm going to try a mono/bipod next time, the only thing with that is I know eventually she will want to move on to being able to do it all herself. That's why I was thinking the pistol, but we will try it out and go again. I think after shooting at a range some, she'd be ready to try deer hunting. Already excited for next season... you and dad both are bad luck

How about a mini Mossberg 500 in .410. They're so short and light, with a little practice you could probably shoulder and fire it one-handed, and you wouldn't have to be quite as precise as with a .22?

Thompson Center makes a 15” pistol barrel in .410. Easy to tote and great for squirrels. I’ve killed many with mine.

tall, lightweight bipod. you could make one from bamboo or cane and paracord. make it to her height so she can aim up. she's a lovely girl, to boot. what a smile ...

jono, i'd be happy to make her a bamboo bipod, for shooting while standing. i need her height while wearing her hunting boots/shoes, and the distance from the top of her shooting shoulder to the ground, again, while wearing her hunting boots. bamboo already is cut. measurements need to be accurate. free, of course. just glad to help ...

Use a bipod and shoot from her back. I've heard of lots of guys that lay down to shoot cause it is better on there necks and shoulders. She would have the bipod on both sides of her hips and then lean the gun back on her shoulder.
