People actually pay $300+ for needle nose pliers?? Check out the prices on their reels. Checkout Zeebaas too. They're similar.

So what do you need split ring capable for? Not being nosy, I just don't know what I'd use that for. I know it's for opening split rings for crankbaits and such but is that something you do quite often?
I'm guessing the little tit on the end of the pliers nose is what the split rings are opened with? If so, does that not get in the way of taking hooks out of fish?

I don’t like the combo pliers for that reason. They do seem to get in my way. I have a set of pliers and a separate set of split ring pliers for that reason.

Makes sense. Thanks for the info. I'd have to get a separate set. I couldn't stand the tit on the end for removing hooks.
One thing about fishing close to or on the bottom, especially down below the dam at Guntersville, is that you're gonna lose (or is the accepted aldeer spelling now loose) lots of terminal tackle.

I'm guessing the little tit on the end of the pliers nose is what the split rings are opened with? If so, does that not get in the way of taking hooks out of fish? Yes, and the little split-ring tit is worth it. Or you can just get some split-ring pliers from Texas Tackle. Worth every penny IMO if you switch out hooks and rings. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Texas_Tackle_Split_Ring_Pliers/descpage-TTSRP.html
