First off, Merry Christmas to all. Hope your holidays are filled with blessings!

Anybody got any hunting reports from Crow Creek? We got a draw Jan 5-6 and curious if the trip is even worth it... considering most of the piss poor reports all over.

If there's any doubt, then there is no doubt... The gut don't never lie.

No offense whatsoever, but if you were drawn to hunt up here at crow creek AND DONT GO, you sir, are an idiot lol.

They have been killing some birds. Not high quantity, but high quality. Mallards, Black ducks and woodies.

No offense taken. Exactly why I asked. I know nothing of Crow Creek, except what we were able to garner on our designated scouting trip opening Saturday of rifle season. Glad to hear the report!

Beats the heck out of being drawn this weekend. Colder air coming toward the end of next week. Might be sitting good when you hunt it.

I am hoping the cooler weather does arrive. Of course the water is aplenty. We got zone 5 which is the southernmost section. Fingers crossed those risers are doing their jobs and the whole bottom isn't covered up. That would be the real obstacle. Counting on that to be the hot spot come shooting light next weekend!

With the rain we’re fixing to get here, everything on the soa land will be under water. Better bring a canoe

The first hunt was pretty slow. Had a buddy that hunted zone 5. Ducks were roosted there. There was a lot of deep water there. They shot 4 total between both hunts. Zone 1 did good. Shot 7-8 both days which consisted of Mostly mallards, a few woodies and black duck. Zones 2, 3, and 4 didn’t hunt the second day. Don’t know how they did first day but I assume not too good to not show up second day. That being said it appears you will have better weather on the second hunt as far as temps and weather north of here. If I were drawn, I’d go.

Thanks for all the info. If weatherman is correct, we ought to have much cooler weather.

Depending on your unit, you could be in for a treat. Hunted it this past weekend and had good luck, including a black duck and saw several more. The high water kept us from getting where we wanted but by yesterday at lunch, the water had receded and we checked the spot we wanted to hunt and it was LOADED. Zones 1&2 seems to have been the best. Good luck!

We got skunked. Didn't get to take the guns off safe. Had 3 buzz us before shooting light. Got one group work to only get sky busted by the adjacent zone on their second circle. And they were gone. That was it. Reckon just too much water around. As others mentioned, sounded like zone 1 or 2 had one early volley. And no more. We didn't go back this morning. Couldn't see anything having changed circumstances.

Kudos to the state. Decent operation. And grateful for the opportunity. Will be submitting for the lottery again next season and hope for better conditions next time.
