Can anyone comment on recoil from a 24” 12 gauge rifled barrel for the T/C Encore?

I have the opportunity to buy one for a good price. Internet research is mixed on how manageable the recoil is. Some internet people make a big deal about it. I’ve never reshot a slug that didn’t have a lot of kick.

My thought is that it’s a single shot, so other than initial sighting in consecutive shots while hunting will not happen often.

Never shot an Encore slug gun, but from my experience with 12 ga slug guns, I would imagine it would be more the on the brutal side than manageable side, at least for me. A 12 ga 870 slug gun was more recoil than I liked, especially at the range. I have an 1100 12 ga slug gun now and the older I get the less fun it is to shoot. I love my son's 1187 Compact 20 ga slug gun. I can shoot that thing all day at the range and it is more than sufficient for killing deer.

The Encore is so light, it feels good holding it, but when you pull the trigger, it becomes a Beast!!

I had to put a slip on Sims recoil pad on the Savage 20 gauge slug gun that I bought this year so I could handle the 3" slugs. Those are the only slugs that will group and without that recoil pad it was rough. After putting it on I shot 46 slugs in one session and 49 in another and never even had a sore shoulder.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
