Love the bald pates. Looks like a stud down on the lower left. Widgeon are some of my favorite ducks! I was hoping I'd run into a Eurasian widgeon when I was living in CA, but never happened, seen a few killed though.

By jerky I'd guess your talking about that blackjack?

Fella on the eufaula refuge killed a Eurasian widgeon on a hunt I was on. He and the biologist were trying to figure out what it was when I pulled up to check out. Beautiful bird.

He came with the guy that hunts with me at times. He said he'll jerky most of it. Freezes the breast partially and then slices thin on a meat slicer. He said he uses same recipe on elk/deer. Gonna give me some he says but, I doubt it...

The dogs cool. He's not the perfect hunting dog for some but, I could care less about that. They can always not hunt with me. If we shooting and birds not falling, he just looks at ya like ya stupid, lol. If birds fall, he's going. Don't bother me, he gets 99.9% of the downed birds and I'm not training all the time. He's 8.5yrs old so, after todays triathlon, he's dragging. All the geese were running field retrieves and all ducks he had to swim.

They are fun. Some geese landed a field over and started pulling birds so guys with me went to try to cut them off. I stayed with my 12 Lesser feels and had 2 groups within 10min of about 200 birds come in on me lol
