Alot of places allow you to pursue hogs during small game but you must use the same guns allowed for small game. My question... 22 mag is leagal for small game right? It says 22 rimfire and the mag is a 22 rimfire. Just tired of people telling me a 22 mag isn't legal for small game in alabama. Coon hunters and squirrel hunters have told me this. They also say a 17 isn't legal either but the rules only say 22 or smaller so I would think both are legal on a lot of public land the mag wasnt legal as of a couple of years ago but it could have changed

Where can a fellow find out for sure. 22mag is still a 22 rimfire Well, does it have a primer sitting in a pocket in the center of the shell or is it flat like all other 22 shells?
