Anyone have this scope? Curious about the glass quality.

Early model made in Japan is damn good.Later model made in Philippines not as good...
Still a pretty good scope for the money

Let me rephrase. They are good scopes for the money. Earlier models, made in Japan, have better glass coatings and adjustment system...

Hard to describe this one... You would be dissapointed if you went out and got a Leupold then compared it to the Sightron. You'd feel like you overpaid.

I don't know if that makes sense. They are one of the better options in the mid priced range. The only thing I would add is that the Big Sky models are better than just the base SII scopes. They have different coatings and optically are better. The same company that made then in Japan makes them in the Philippines.

Their strong suit is the tracking system. It is VERY good for a scope in that price range. I have a SII Big Sky on my beater rifle that I hunt with a good bit. Yea. I could pull it off and put a Schmitt and Bender on there but it does what it needs to do so there is really no need. I've got custom turrets on it and it is 100% on tracking. Just don't expect after purchase to make a post telling everyone they need to go get one. It is just a solid middle of the road kind of deal. It's no Zeiss but that's ok.

No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

Early SII models (made in Japan) had the same coatings(Zact-7 Revcoat) and tracking system(ExacTrac) as the Big Sky.When they moved production to the Philippines, they dropped those features aiming at a different price point.Still a great scope for the money...
