What manufacturer do you suggest? What composition (metals) do you suggest? Do you like QD or thread on?

I know a lot depends on what I want to do with it but eventually I’ll have several but want something I can swap around on a few guns up to .30 cal.

I’ve been looking seriously at the silencerco harvester. I’ve shot AAC, Gemtec, and a couple other off brands. Most do what they say they will and significantly reduce the decibels and recoil but I’ve seen a couple that made groups open up. I’m not interested in that.

Thoughts, suggestions, recommendations???

I've got an AAC .30 cal on my 308 700 that jack Anders cut down to 16" and threaded. I've killed deer with and more importantly my son has. It's only one and first I've owned but I'm tickled with it. And it's a local HSV product.

I have a Silencerco Hybrid and a sparrow. And i haven't had (or noticed) an issue with groups with mine, but i noticed my 22 supply has gotten a little lower since i purchased the sparrow rofl

Check out Liberty Suppressors over near Trenton, GA. They used to have 1 weekend a month set aside to demo some of their products and everything they make is top shelf.

I like thread on vs QD for my hosts.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I have a AAC. It’s a little heavier and longer but has worked well. If I had it to do over again I would have gotten the silencerco harvester

I have a liberty and 2 silencerco silencers. The liberty was my first ever can. It is a great can and built like a tank. It will last forever and the folks over at liberty are top notch. You can also call over there and talk to the owner David on the phone. Not too many places you can do that now. The only thing I don’t like about my liberty is that it is really heavy. Granted, that is due to the sturdy construction.

My silencerco is much lighter so I use it for hunting. If you want to hunt with it I would highly suggest looking at silencerco cans on the light side. The omega is a tried and proven fantastic can that is light and has changeable caps which is a huge plus. Silencerco is a top notch company as well.

Definitely pay attention to the weight. If you think you might ever want to use it on anything bigger. Go silencerco hybrid and don’t look back.

As far as qd or direct thread I like to do direct thread because I don’t like to add extra weight with the qd mounts and I don’t shoot much rapid fire. If you shoot a lot of rapid fire then qd might be helpful.

I have a Blackhawk Gas Can 7.62. I really like it. They were made for Blackhawk by Silencerco. I think they may be discontinued now.

I'm partial to the thunder beast but they are a little more than most others .22 take down is awesome makes a 10/22 sound quiet as a red Ryder bb gun maybe quieter you can really only hear the bolt cycle. in .308 models they have near zero point of impact shift and one of the highest db reductions if I'm gonna make a one time investment in a suppressor I'm gonna get the best

I have Liberty suppressors. David is a good man and builds great products. He also stands behind them. Most of their suppressors are much lighter now than they used to be.

I’ve got the omega and sparrow made by silencerco. I have a QD on one gun and threaded the rest. It doesn’t matter to me whether it’s on there or not. It’s really just another expense. The sparrow is a must have, but .22 ammo goes QUICK!

I’m waiting on an Omega to arrive, and I can’t wait!

Nichols had the Blackhawk 300WM rated cans on sale for $450

I don’t have an option on the qd mounts yet but I plan on using a couple on thinner barrels as an adapter to go from 1/2x28 to the can size 5/8x24. If I had a 16.5” model 7, I imagine it would still be a handy dandy rifle with a 7” suppressor.

I have a yankee hill. The qd requires strap wrenches to remove once its tightened down, that's my only complaint

Dang, that is a good price. Those are basically an omega with a different exterior look. Silencerco made/makes them.

Are they still being made? I can’t get an answer on the internet that is consistent.

Nichols said they were discontinued but will honor the lifetime warranty. Call them if you'd like 664-3431

The blckhawk felt noticeably lighter than the Omega, but SilencerCo does make the Blackhawk and all parts are interchangeable
