Anyone feasting on a bird they killed tomorrow? I know lots of folks say they dont fool with anything other than breasts on a wild bird, but I'm tempted to try to cook a whole bird next year if I can kill a couple this spring. There's a good-looking recipe on the MeatEater site I've thought about.

I'll be frying strips tomorrow night. We always do a big family lunch then my wife and kids fry a wild bird for supper. I've never attempted a whole bird though and doubt I ever will

Pluck em and make dressing with em. Wild turkey and duck make the best dressing.

I like to eat em fresh in the spring too much and Madison county doesn't have a fall season.

That's some optimistic procrastination, cooking a bird you haven't killed until tomorrow.

My opinions and comments are my own. They do not reflect the position or political opinions of Aldeer or any of the Aldeer administration.

Ya know, after posting, I thought about going back and editing to make it a little more grammatically correct, but figured "Nah, nobody will say anything".....I should've known better grin

Yes Gomer. We always fry turkey breast on Thanksgiving.

X2.

One tip, scald it first. Feathers will come off in handfuls. You can pick one clean in minutes.
