Never been on one of these, but it seems like a cool opportunity for someone that’s never experienced a dog drive. Do y’all know of other Alabama public lands that organize something similar, or is this one unique?

You should make every attempt to go dog hunting at least once in your life. It’s very cool and even better if the dogs are not yours..

I agree. I’ve been on some small scale ones, but really haven’t been around the culture and large organized drives I’ve heard and read about. I doubt it could ever eclipse bow hunting for me, but I hate to think of the technique just fading away. Faulkner made it sound pretty dam cool.

Geneva SF is an ideal place for that. Lots of open woods, some recent clear cuts, mostly flat land, lots of roads and firebreaks.
