Placed the order for that model yesterday. Should be here tomorrow. Gonna take it on a test run this weekend.

mcninja,
You'll love that thing for low country boils too.
Check out the youtube of McLemore doing one. It's simple.

The crab boil in the house will choke you up pretty bad. I suggest doing them outside.
I actually haven't fried anything in mine yet.

Gotcha. I'm actually planning on using it on my back patio exclusively, or my garage if it happens to be raining. I've just got too many little ones running around to risk hot oil splashing/falling inside.

Peanut oil fried is outstanding. I use Zatarans cajun seasoning to coat bird then inject Inject with a mixture of beer, apple cider vinegar, zatarans and butter. Do that 24 hours before frying. Let bird sit at room temperature for a couple of hours, fry at minimum 350 for 3.5 minutes per pound. Careful not to put a frozen turkey in the hot oil and never fill over what bird will displace or you'll be putting out a fire.

Half the time? If you’re frying at the same temperature, it ain’t gonna cook faster.

The sealing of the fryer with the top decreases cooking time.

If the oil of your deep fryer is 350, and the oil of your butterball is 350, it’s going to cook in the same time. It may keep heat better than the traditional fryer, but it’s still oil at 350.

It's basically a pressure cooker.

I also fried a turkey for the first time this year following some of this advice. That thing was dang delicious! We also did stuffing/dressing "fritters" or hushpuppies, something we all decided was a good idea while standing around the fryer having some drinks (diet coke...). They actually turned out pretty amazing as well.
