So Mrs. Irish is taking me down there for date night. Which seems much better than our last "Big" date night when she took me to the play "The Lion King." (Have I told you how much I hate plays.) She does this sort of thing to (In her mind) expose me to culture I guess...

So we are going to have to go downtown and park somewhere way away from the venue at night and then make it back and forth to our car. Of course I would rather be armed as is my right, however the Alabama Theater has metal detectors, so like last time at that stupid play I won't even be able to have my pocket knife. So in addition to me and my wife both being vulnerable to robbery or murder on the way to and from the venue, what if some terrorist or mass murderer decides that the Vince Gill concert is fair game? All we have is a metal detector and a single off-duty cop or security guard to defend everyone? If somebody decides to go crazy and shoot some people up in there a metal detector probably won't slow him down one bit.

I know all of this is a long shot, but it still bugs the crap out of me.

My niece was in a High School volleyball tournament in Nashville a couple of years back. The team they were playing had Vince Gill's daughter playing for them. He sat right beside us in the gym during the games, and was a super nice guy.

Agreed.

More importantly, will Amy Grant be there? blush Always had a thing for her. Vince is a lucky fellow.

Darn; hope not. Was hoping he would sign my Pure Prairie League LP.

You are correct; just checked Alabama Theatre website. That's disappointing; not a country fan but like Vince and the Alabama.

Went to see Alice Cooper last year at Alabama theater, they had the street lighted up, almost like daytime, and had cops and security everywhere.
