Alright folks what are your plans? Where are you going to be hunting? Weather and daytime moontime predictors are near ideal.

I will be hunting in Union Springs in a shooting house ( if I can get up ladder) over looking about 2 acres of 3 way seed with a section of BFO. Greenfield is surrounded by 5 year cutover. The field is also located within 75 yards of two creeks. I have taken plenty of deer in my life but I have never taken a rack buck during gun season on a greenfield. Expecting 10 plus deer on field but fingers crossed for a shooter as no one has hunted prop prior to gun and this is the first time I have planted in 9 years.

So how bout opening day?

Creek crossing in an Oak flat bordered by a 5 year clear cut on the west and 8 acres of standing corn/beans to the north. For the first time in my life I have no green fields for opening day, I will be planting next week-end.I have been talking about hunting the woods more for years but this trip I will have no choice.

I found a pretty good spot when you turn east at the Fosters exit in Tuscaloosa. Not sure about that big ol fence but I bet Shaw has cut a hole somewhere.

My opening day morning will probably be spent in my recliner with a cup of coffee. some of our other club members have gone All-In with the "supplemental feeding", and you'd be hard-pressed to find a spot that is both 100yds away and not in view of it. And yet, nobody ever sees any deer down there....hmmm

I'll be sitting in an office chair at work reading the LFTT posts when the opportunity presents itself. I'll get after them Monday.

Where the freshest and hottest buck sign is that I find Friday. I’ll quietly and quickly scout a few places mid day and I’ll know where I want to hunt when I see it. Just to be clear I’m not talking about riding around a club checking every green field on my side by side 😀

I don't have a spot picked out. I'm going to have 3 other people hunting with me on 300 acres we'll probably wake up Saturday morning and decide as a group where we are all going. Im looking forward to spending time at camp/in the woods this weekend than I am killing a deer.

Going down with 4 buddies to go on our "2nd Annual Hunts Brothers Pizza Weekend" in Camden...more about killing beers than deers but the land is jam up (buddy killed an 8 within 30 min of bowhunting last year) so should at least see some and hogs!

Have not decided. I'm going down Thur. to pull cam cards, put up another stand, and then I'll "scout" by sitting in a couple of stands Friday with a camera in hand.

I’m gonna be in Lawrence County TN in a stand somewhere. Not sure. Depends on what we see Friday last day of muzzleloader.

If I get to go I'll be in a tripod set up on the edge of a big bottom with a long green field on two sides in an L shape at the base of a mountain. They feed in the hardwood bottom and go up the mountain to bed.

I’ll be in Alabaster watching both of my boys’ teams playing for the JSYFL championships. Wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

Of course my wife will have to tell me to quit checking the LFTT thread at least a dozen times during the games. smile

I’m ready and sitting on go. Problem is with all the rain we’ve got I won’t be able too get to the most productive early season stand. Or any stand for that matter. All roads going in with be underwater so I’m still not sure yet. To hunt this weekend I’ll have to improvise, adapt and overcome.
