I planted our plots on October 7th this year and we have had decent rainfall since putting the seed in the ground. The past few years I have been planting a premixed WMS blend but decided to go back to my old formula which is BFO, Wheat and WMS Brassica blend. All our plots are up and the deer are grazing them pretty good, just in time for Youth Weekend.

What did you plant in those fields, and how much of it did you plant per acre.

If you're gonna be stupid you better be tough.

These were tilled, planted and covered with a disc. Then passed the packer on them. This one was tilled planted and lightly covered with the tiller[Linked Image]

Continuous tillage is not beneficial for soil OM but damn it’s fun and makes the absolute best looking plots. Drilling and T&M will never a plot that looks that good. I may go hook to a disc this afternoon just for the tractor seat therapy. I miss discing

Learned a lot reading on this sight and 5 of us in the group are farmers and have a little history of growing stuff. Getting good at growing grass. I love growing plots.
