We have some vacancies in a trapping workshop in Mobile County December 8&9. This workshop is listed as youth but we are also taking adult participants to increase participation.

See link for more information.

I wish it was closer, I'd round some kids up. They used to do one on Coosa WMA and I volunteered as a mentor every year until they stopped having it. Whole lot of fun teaching those youngins.

There is an RV park nearby if you're interested in making the trek down.

As of last night we had 1 kid registered. Just trying to keep these opportunities available. If any adults or kids are interested the space is there.

Man, I hate to hear that. If I didn't have a newborn at home and so much going on I'd make the trip down.

Don’t want to hi-jack the thread because these are great classes.

To answer your question, yes. The DCNR puts several on across the state with the help of folks like NWTF, AL Trappers Association, retired employees, and current staff. Me and a few others taught one last weekend in Detroit, AL.

I urge anyone interested to take the OP’s invitation. These are fantastic learning opportunities and a great way to get kids and other folks that don’t hunt in the woods.

These are great classes! Scoutshire has been a nice place to have the class the past couple years also.

Right now we have 5 participants registered. It's a great event and great facilities we're fortunate enough to be able to use. Keep passing the word so we don't have to cancel the class.

If anyone has questions feel free to shoot me a message.

Given the amount of rain in the forecast for Saturday we have chosen to cancel the trapping workshop. There are two other upcoming workshops in the area in Atmore and Spanish Fort that still have some space.

We’ll try again next year. Hopefully the weather will cooperate a little more.
