I have had a blast so far this week. Killing hogs has been simple. I ride around hard wood areas, stop, turn off the truck, and simply listen. If there are any in the area, you can hear them cracking acorns well over a 100 yards. Even with my old bad ears.
I rode around 2 small hay fields Tuesday night listening. I killed 8. Three doubles and 2 singles.
Went with a buddy down in Fitzpatrick last night. Found a sounder popping acorns on the edge of a pasture. We killed 9 out of 12.
The effective part is they are making so much noise you can slip in real close in the dark. Awesome time to have a thermal.
I have about a week left on my permit for the year. Going to try and hammer them hard until it runs out.
