We have a slight Hog problem and we have contacted Westervelt, as well as the ADCNR. They are suggesting that we pick a field with the most activity and they will trap them, this field and some of the surrounding area would be off limits while they are trapping. So my question is would you let them start now or wait till after season

Wait and hunt all the land you paid to hunt. Contrary to what most people that have never had hogs will say, the population isn’t going to grow much in 4 months not to mention that if you all the sudden have hogs there is a reason for it ( corn, acorns, etc.) and when that reason is gone the hogs will be to. If you have hogs all the time then you’re fighting a battle that definitely can wait till after season.

That’s sort of my thinking is to wait till after season ..shoot as many as we see during deer season and then let them come out and do their thing and we still continue to shoot hogs ...we should be getting a permit to kill them over bait

I would wait. You put a little pressure on them and they will move on. Good chance another group will move in and than move on. It's a never ending cycle if y'all property has something they like. Shoot everyone yall see.

Eat them. Build a round trap out of panels. Put some corn outside and inside. Wait a week or two to set it. Cut the boars and release them back for a few months. Build it in a shaded area when it cools off that way you can wait a few days to check them. May be better than deer meat to eat.
