How many on here have actually been bit by a venomous snake while wearing snake proof boots. If so what time of year was it.

I have been bit twice without snake proof boots

bit once with them on, BUT I was stomping a cottonmouth so the bites were no surprise.

Once while wearing snake boots and once while wearing snake chaps.

Both were in Alabama.

Been hit on normal boots twice. No penetration

yer too skinny...the fangs missed....

I'd wear them turkey hunting in the spring because everything is so grown up, but I'd just assume leave it up to chance during the fall. Snakeboots are torture in their own right.

I seen on FB that a lady had got bitten on opening day by a copperhead. She was in the hospital. Seems they were up around elkmont or Athens area.

I've been stomping around in the woods since I was 5 years old (now 45). I've encountered several snakes over the years but knock on wood, the only one that ever bit me was a King snake. He got pissy when I accidentally ran him over with a 4 wheeler while seeding fields and clamped on to my blue jeans.

so far been lucky. Never been bit, in 47 or so years. I do wear them though.

I was hit in South Carolina by a moccasin . He hit me mid calf with a pair of Rockys on. Scared me to death though still. I shot him immediately after . I hate freaking snakes.

Always wear them. Never been bit just close encounters with cottonmouths ready to strike.

Never been bitten but I have come close a time or two. As much as I've tromped through the woods and swamps, I've probably been close more times than I care to think about. I don't wear snake boots.

Only once, copperhead walking out after roosting a gobbler had snake boots on and damn glad I did. Was a mile from the truck and 30 miles to the closest hospital. Wear snake boots all of the time I am in the hunting woods.
I really don't need that kind of adrenalin rush!

Zero, but walked up plenty of buzzworms while hunting out West. Nastiest SOB was a red diamond...buddy tried his best to get tagged by it.

Had one rattle by my foot one time. I had snake boots on and the dang thing was maybe 6 inches away. Never struck at me though.

dont know but they sure do make you feel alot safer walking in before daylight in the fall and spring when its to dark to see where you're stepping.
