Killed a nanny this morning

Another nanny! Got invited to help thin some doe’s on a buddy’s club, nobody wants to shoot em so I was obliged to help out!

Nope, tough hunting while we were out there. Bucks were likely on lockdown and does weren't coming to feeders to avoid being harassed. I saw 1 good buck running a doe in the distance that I went after for most the trip and never saw him again. I think I saw a total of 7/8 deer on 7 hunts, very uncharacteristic for this property.

Yes, we were in Dumont, Texas. The owner is originally from Alabama and most of his groups are from Alabama. I think the 2 groups in the weeks ahead of ours are made up of Alabama Power employees. This was my first year to go, I enjoyed it and I know they have had great success in the past.

I've been a little here and there but like you mentioned we don't crank up until January. I keep saying I'm going to work on the does but never seem to follow through.

Reptar’s comments are pretty much spot-on for me. I’ve been a bit, but my club won’t get into rut mode for another couple of weeks. I “hope” to get a buck this season, but am hunting a new-to-me club so I’m dealing with a learning curve.
