Went this morning and saw a decent 8 point. Was looking down a fire break for a minute or two. Looked back right and saw a decent 8 point about 75 yards beside a pine starring me down. My gun was across the stand on safety. I move my left hand as slowly as possible to the gun pushing it off safety. The buck drops down a little and runs like a leopard to the right, never to be seen again.

Never saw where he came from but saw where he ran.

Dang!! Hopefully you can get on him again. I'll be headed back up after Christmas trying to catch them in rut then. Saw a few good ones last weekend cruising, but none would be upgrade bucks for the contest,so I held off the trigger. Did snap some pics and videos.

Saw 2 does Friday right after the rain stopped and the winds started. A mother and her baby but wasn't able to get on the mother. Went Saturday till noon and saw nothing. Our rut is normally a week before Christmas and a week after. No evidence of rutting activity. I told my hunting partner yesterday we have no deer so no rutting activity.

Went this morning and saw 4. Thought they were all does but the largest one, i shot it and it turned out to be a spike. Will post pictures later and hope to improve on it soon. Heading back about 2 EST. Our deer finally beginning to move around.

Been out of work for 2 weeks and return tomorrow for 1/2 day before resuming Thursday full time. Just hate we had all the rain we had which really hampered my time in the woods and the fact that our deer usually rut now and we have seen little or no physical evidence what few deer we are seeing are doing anything.

Not normally what I would shoot, but boy has it been a rough season and only been able to hunt about 6 times this season with maybe 2-3 hunts left... glad to have some horns and some meat!

Also I saved the heart out of it... I keep seeing people post about cooking them, so I’m going to give it a try, once I figure out how they’ve preped it and cooked it

Well, one of the 10's I was after got shot by the neighbors. Pretty sure he was only a 3yr old,but he scored right at 140. He wouldnt have made it to 4 if he walked by me to.. I got a few more 10's on cam though to try and get us an upgrade buck.nice work this weekend DT and Possum!!

I need to upgrade that spike i shot thinking it was a doe. Area I'm hunting is slap tore up with scrapes and rubs. Just need time in the woods without the rain.

So when posting a picture first upload to which ever site you use, then copy URL.... you first go to full editor in bottom right... then you click on the picture upload in top center beside the emoji... it then pops up where you upload your URL, and says (http:// ) you delete all that then paste your URL. It should work then. Or that’s how it works on mine... I use an iPhone
