I’ll be bow hunting with a Bear recurve until muzzleloader season starts. Then I’ll be using my flintlock til I get a deer before I start using a modern gun.

I have fam land across the river from you in Clark Co. just above coffeville if I can make it down...buddy and I both got drawn for Fred t Stimpson soa hunts so huntin it twice, got a trip to Camden planned openin weekend...hunt up on the mountain in mentone and some on lake martin...trick will be havin the time to get away for an afternoon or so...

They sure were moving this evening around the gateswood area in Baldwin County. I saw a pile of does and a bachelor group of bucks this evening headed to the house. One buck was well outside his ears. We just had a good rain this afternoon.

Headed north in the morning. Took the family out for dinner and on the way home a spotted fawn ran right into the side of the wife’s tohoe. Not the first kill of the season I was looking for

I honestly cant get aggravated everytime I check in. Maybe im too old but I dont get it.

With that said I'm hunting union springs this year and we planted for the first time in 7 years. Trigger restraint should be the hardest part of limiting out. First time in my 40 plus years of hunting property that there is a 100 % failure of RED Oaks on property. Our white oaks and swamp chestnut oaks are loaded. White Oaks and Swamp Chestnuts will be devoured by DEC 1 so our planted fields should be heavily utilized. Looking forward to some good live treestand updates this season. Yall where em out!!! Shot a biggun at 6....tracked for 200 yards bright red blood then some gut material came out...think we bumped him once so pulled out and goin first thing in am...dog I think is in the way

Anyway waiting on recovery story. It seems now days that with dawgs that a gut shot deer is one of the most recoverable deer of all shots. Waiting for the story and GOOD LUCK.

Are there bonus points for bowkill in team aldeer? I'm waiting for gun season to leave the place undisturbed for my buddies. I was at 7 years in a row at taking a deer with my recurve on opening day the last time I bowhunted..

Callin in a dog up here...started to find really good blood and then jumped him...we think he’s at least 120 but he would def he my best with a bow and possibly my best ever

Good and cool for tracking.. Sometimes a marginal shot is a good shot. The link is my best bow buck. I shot him walking at about 15 yards and he turned at the shot. The arrow went parallel to butt . Deer went 40 yards and stone cold dead as it hit his femoral artery. Guessing 110-115 or so..

I gutted one this afternoon my cousin killed..hit way back...ran 50 an piled up..was surprised...my brother shot a doe yesterday mornin...hit her right bihind the shoulder quarterin away and broker her offside leg..cut both lungs and nicked her heart good..jumped her twice and had to fivestar frogsplash on her in some poison bryers an finish her...one crappy shot and one good one...flipity flop..never know sometimes but after these past 2 days...i was perplexed.

Good news is we found the buck!....bad news is that I had commitments where my girlfriend would have killed me if I had missed and wasn't there for the recovery or picture taking and whatnot so don't have a deer to enter the contest...my bad y'all...Lord willing I get a chance at another biggun this year

Thanks buddy! Younger deer I found out, but when you only have 2 min to judge near dark on a walking buck, I'm just blessed he's as big as he was! Hopefully can add another one that actually counts this year Lord willing!

Sometimes a really good young buck like that looks huge cause their horns seem unusally big on a smaller body. I shot an 8 point with 8 inch tines and about 15 inch spread. Was shocked to see deer weighed about 70 pounds. Somehow my typical first year spike on property grew that rack his first year..

Thanks man! Frustrating because I did everything right for once and it happened to be a big buck for me to shoot just a hair low...learn from every experience, but I can honestly say this sight has taught me the importance of a dog and without it, we wouldn't have found that deer...super pumped I still got it, but hate it ended like it did...I may not be able to go again during bow season (may be able to sneak out an afternoon hunt one day cause med school has me locked down) but going on a hunt in Camden on a jam up place opening weekend of gun so hope I can contribute then! We would have 14 points if I had made a lil better of a shot but oh well! Hope y'all wear em out!

Got my bow back from my buddy who had to put the deer down for me...found out he broke/bent two of my broadheads and left two nocturnals on for two weeks...oh well...getting up in a tree Thursday finally...yall done any good?

Coulda killed a doe but it was early enough i jist waited. Seen 3 nice bucks just out of range...but i leftem there an unaware..hehe. Headed to sumpter co this weekend for a 3 day hunt. Gon try to putt me a nanner on the ground an quit this horn huntn bologna...i might shoot 2 hehe.

I killed this 8pt on a WMA quota hunt up here this evening. Didn’t have a very big rack, but met the minimum point restrictions and was 180lbs.

Nice buck. I’m taking my oldest boy this weekend for the youth hunt maybe he can get lucky and have a nice rack buck step out. Weather is gonna be glad it’s finally getting cold

I got drawn for a quota hunt at a WMA up here. 4 points on one side or 15” inside spread minimum. I went in blind to a clear cut I found on google earth. Set up on a hillside in a blind where there were some trails down below me. It was rainy and windy and the hill I was on was too steep for my fold out chair, so I got up and moved everything back about 20 yards. The wind calmed and about ten minutes later he came from over the hillside. I had to scope check him about 5 times to make sure he had 4 on one side. When I concluded he did, he walked behind some brush downhill from me. I couldn’t see him, so I stood up out the front window of the ground blind and found him. I put the crosshairs on his neck through some jap grass, and pulled the trigger. Dead on impact. Took me an hour to drag him out even with help. I’ll be investing in a game cart for sure.

SBS, that sounds like a great hunt and its really cool when they just come out of nowhere. I'm like Murtaugh from Lethal Weapon... too old for that stuff at dragging one out.. Good lord especially in TN hills. I saw a deer cart that coverted into a chair blind to sit / hunt out of, which would be cool. Once again great deer! I hope to get us some points next weekend. I havent hunted our place to keep it cherry for the gun opener for my friends to be successful. First time we have planted in 9 years so they should be boocoo deer on fields. Hoping to Photo a bunch.

I did a quick lil scout the other day here in the national forest near auburn and almost ended up getting a shot at a doe slipping around...gonna be able to hunt an afternoon this week finally and should bust a doe at least this weekend at a jam up place in Camden with buddies...kill em up boys! glad to have a team where everyone at least hunts it seems like!

Almost pulled a double on some does sitting on the ground with my brother and classmate on the national forest this afternoon, but the classmate moved and spooked the deer who were 10 yards away...exciting hunt but oh well!

Weather has been sketchy i went friday and hunted from bout 10am til dark, saw nothing. Place im hunting doesnt have alot of deer but i saw 3 bucks there in bow season and the smallest woulda went 125 and prolly 3.5 years old easy. Gonna try to put one down with my overrated 6.5 creedmoor

Took the gf for her first hunt ever this weekend...passed a 3yr old 9 point Friday evening and some does before she came and we couldn't get a buck to come out for her...saw a total of 17 does and yearlings Saturday and a bunch of turkeys so she had a great time despite the rain!

I'm with y'all...been so busy with school I haven't really even got to hunt much...board studying after Christmas so not much will change except going on the SOA hunt Dec 27-30...Hope y'all have a wonderful Christmas though!

Ive hunted several times but to no avail...dang people have been beatin the woods downs worse than ever this year...im gonna say its due to clubs bein so high...knobody can affordem an round here you gotta drive a good hour to hour an a half to find good numbers on public or private land...im goin crappie fishin...did i mention the weather sucks..

I’ve been off since Christmas and I’ve think I’ve hunted once. This is some outstanding weather. One good thing though they are starting to cruise a little bit on one lease we have so hopefully with a little cooler temps we can have some luck. Of course though I have to start working again now that the huntin is getting good in my area

Had arrow deflect at last min on a coyote...had a couple close calls with hogs and passed a young 8/10 pt...two year old prolly 140 lbs with a pretty rack but I’ve got the full rut hunt down there first of feb so may have some luck with better weather! Attaboy! Great kills!! I was covered up in small bucks today and ended up shooting over the back of a red fox, but while both the neighbors killed good bucks, and the girl who owns the property shot her first racked buck that hopefully they will find tom am, I didn't see anything worth shooting.

Killed a pretty good five pointthis afternoon. He came in at 2:45. This is the earliest I’ve ever shot a buck in the afternoon. I’m tagged out in alabam I reckon I’ll try here in MS for the rest of the season

Ended up seeing 4 shooters this weekend and if I had my gun, I would've killed a nice buck both Friday and Saturday...Saw a bunch and came really close to shooting that one stud 8, but I enjoyed it y'all! I'm sorry all that with the 9 didn't work out with pics and all!
