Saw some does with fawns and a couple small bucks, heading back to camp Thurs evening. Congrats Beadle, first blood of the season under the belt is always a good feeling

Well we came back empty handed from Illinois. We saw tons of deer and I passed up some good bucks trying to hold out for a good one. I was able to lay eyes on an absolute giant just never could get him Close enough.

Killed one this evening but forgot to get proper pics, I'll kill more tho lol. Got lucky the bullet went through the tree then hit the deer, ran bout 40 yards.

I've done the same thing before. Centered a 4" oak tree with my .270. The bullet hit the deer like buckshot.......in about 4 pieces. Deer ran about the same distance as yours. I don't worry about shooting in brush much anymore.
