Y’all hear that Remington is bringing these guns back from the grave? No, but if they do, I hope they will bust a primer. Some of the newer shotguns made just before they discontinued them, had a problem with reliable ignition

Do you have a link for the hearsay?
A stainless 308 or 243 would be nice.
I believe they will be higher priced if they do, like a Henry.
I called them and the response was “thats the rumor, no decision has been made yet”...To me that means its in talks

Some of the newer shotguns made just before they discontinued them, had a problem with reliable ignition That's why I sent my buffalo classic back to them. It was hitting the primer wayyyyyyy off center and requiring 2 strikes to ignite. I sent it back explaining the problem and they simply put a heavier spring instead of checking the gun out. Now it will fire on first strike 25% of the time. I was pissed. It's been sitting in the closer for about 4-5 years. I can't remember the last time I shot it.

that is correct. marlin bought harrington & richardson and sold guns under h&r and nef, before remington bought out marlin and drove it in the ground with poor quality and poor customer service. I still use my nef .444 for most of my rifle hunting. killed a lot of deer with the .270 barrel on it before purchasing the .444 barrel.
experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

I hope they do. I'd probably be in the market for a couple.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

yes, greybeardoutdoors.com. the rimmed cartridge rifles are particularly good. i've owned a bunch. ALL were 1.5-inch or better. MUCH better with hand load tuning. .280, .30-'06, .30-30, .45-70, .44 magnum. the .44 was the "worst" of the bunch. twist was not right for bullets heavier than 240-grain ...

I've been through a handful of them.Never had any problems with any of them.Accuracy on some was horrible, some decent, and some excellent.I kept a 7-08 compact and a .280,that shoot as good as any bolt-rifle I own. Most accuracy issues were lock fit or trigger pull, both are really easy to fix.

I worked up a 200 yard load for my NEF 45-70. It absolutely hammers the deer and that one shot don't bother me. Pulling the trigger on that load at the range is another story.

Why not just get an Encore instead. Much better rifle and you can't give one away on the used market. They do not bring good money at all that's a buyer's market on a single shot rifle.
I always thought the H&R was a true POS. Would be fitting for Remington to bring those back since that would be inline with most of what they produce today.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

MrsGomer has a .243 handi-rifle (think her's is an H&R). I've never shot it past 200yds, but 200 and in, it'll shoot with my savage .308 all day long. It's easily an MOA-or-less gun with Federal Fusion ammo.
