Anything you want. We use to wear them out on worms and lizards torpedoes small jerk baits. If you really want to have some fun buy a cast net and catch some horny headed chubs and free weight them in deep pools. You will catch bass catfish crappie gar anything.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

I fish the Cahaba all the time. It runs right by my house too. The wife and I like to canoe from Grantsmill Rd down to Liberty Park. What to throw? I'd start with a small buzzbait. As far as I'm concerned, it's the best buzzbait body of water in the state. Period.
Last time I was there I did well on a swimjig on laydowns. The fish there are aggressive spots and redeye that don't see many baits. I go with my braided line and heavy gear and never have an issue.
