I’ve been thinking about getting into a lightweight hang on and sticks that pack well together. I’d like something I can set up before I sit with relative ease. I’d like something lighter than my summit climber and I can’t shoot my longbow out of it. I’d also like to be able to get 20 feet up with the sticks.

Anybody else use a setup like this instead of a climber? If so what brands models etc

I use the xop sticks and lone wolf stand. I highly recommend an adjustable stand

Lone wolf alpha and sticks. Leveling platform and seat is awesome.

XOP has advantages as far as bigger steps and that they set further away from tree. You can’t go wrong with either lone wolf or XOP. Dan infalt has some sticks out now that look promising, but they are on back order just like XOP. Tip for you. Practice then practice some more. The versatility of sticks and hangon are second to none. I only have my summit for rifle season for cutovers to be comfortable. People that trash the sticks and hang on run n gun are guys that never gave it a fair trial or practiced. One more tip. Invest in a quality linesman’s belt. Don’t buy the big store brand. The seat belt style from HSS just binds up and isn’t that good to me. Make you own. 11mm Static life safety rope you can find on amazon. 10-12 feet’s with. Two locking carabiners at least 8kn breaking strength. Last thing you need is a Ropeman 1 ascender which are really hard to find right now also. Everyone is buying the same stuff. Traditional bow hunter on YouTube has a great video on how to set this linesman belt up and how he climbs with his stand and sticks. A lot you can learn from him. You can also add 1 inch tubular webbing as 1st step on first stick to hang stick a little higher

For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

The deer I killed this morning was out of an alpha with 4 sticks. I'd guess I was about 17ft high. I put my first two sticks on the tree, then put a stick on each hip and the stand on my back and went up with the linemans belt, then pulled my bow and bag up. Its definitely harder than using a climber but I've gotten tired of not hunting spots for lack of a tree. I'm either on the ground or in a limby tree now. Takes a lot of getting used to.
