After shooting every evening for the last month (grouping looking good out to 60). I notice every once in a while I just have a bad day. My groups get sloppy or can’t hold on a dot . What do you do to shake it off and get back in a good shooting rhythm?

I revert to the basics and get my mind back in the game. Naming off steps like checking grip, anchor points, front shoulder, proper trigger and a good follow through gets me back in rhythm most times. If not, I put the bow up and try again tomorrow.

Don’t let it get in your head. Put the bow up for the day and try again the next. At this point in the game, the very first arrow should be what you’re judging off of. You’re not going to get any warm up shots when the moment of truth comes.

Some days especially when I’ve been working night shift I’m just not on my A game. It’s best to just put the bow up and try again later. If you’re not careful you can create bad shooting habits if you don’t. Like Shaw said, focus on the first shot of the day. It’s the only one that counts in the moment of truth.

This right here ^^^^^. Once you get your bow dialed in and muscle and muscle memory built up just shoot a few arrows , always making number one count. If you and your bow are dialed in , it's just a bad day, everyone has them at some point. You don't want to get out there and start second guessing yourself or working on your bow when nothing is wrong.

I'm glad you posted this. Been having the exact same issues this year with my shooting. At first,I would just keep shooting and it didnt improve. Just recently,I learned to just put the bow away for the day and get back at it the next day. When I continue to shoot,it just gets in my head.

I’ve noticed that there are days when I’m not focusing and just rushing my shot. I usually end up get mad at myself for it and then concentrate on what I’m doing, but I have those days when I just have to put the bow down and give it a rest.

Most of the time the nut behind the string is the problem.

I don’t shoot near as much as I once did and it seems like I shoot better. But if you’re using trad gear, you need to shoot a lot.
But I’m also a 25 yard guy.
