I've carried various 3-blade old timers for 30yrs...current one has the small blade filed down as a screwdriver...will last forever but if you lose it, buy another for $25

Can't really go wrong with a Kershaw....just find one the size/style you prefer and roll with it.

I would look more at blade composition. Some use crappy Chinese steel that dulls quickly and won’t hold an edge. If your not worried about rust go high carbon blade. I prefer American but Opinel is hard to beat and cheap. I use a #7.
If you like stainless I prefer a S30v or better but your not gonna get that for $30. It’s a little harder to sharpen but holds a edge really well and once it’s sharp it’s nothing to touch it up. If you want cheaper and easier to sharpen go with a 440c

Kershaw OSO Sweet. $20. Great blade and easy to sharpen. This. And at times they can be had for under $15. When Mark's puts them on sale for that price I'll buy 4-5 of them or more. I switch between carrying one of these and an endura for a folder. My Izula 2 in a kydex sheath set up horizontally at dang near 12 oclock is used for different task than my folder.

How bout just a Buck Stockman. I've carried one with me about my whole life and the sheepsfoot blade is handy as all get out. And if you need to castrate a Democrat you got a blade handy for that too.

I prefer something with a pocket clip. Much easier than looking like you're playing with yourself with your hand in the bottom of your pocket. Kershaw,Gerber, and SOG make good ones

My EDC is a SOG Sideswipe . Holds an edge well, blade has a very rigid spine and it sharpens easily

I usually hook the clip with my fingers and slide it right out...Working where I do, well did, I needed something that was as deeply concealed as I could get it...No one at my current duty station gives a rip

Kershaw Shuffle. Wide, stout blade, pocket clip, takes and holds an edge well, and at $15, I carry one, keep one in the truck, and have a couple spares in the house, should I need one!
