Very close to $50 but a little over is the kershaw blur. Great knife

I've carried various 3-blade old timers for 30yrs...current one has the small blade filed down as a screwdriver...will last forever but if you lose it, buy another for $25

in my opinion, the best folder for the money is the $20-$27 ka-bar dozier. light weight, thin enough and sturdy.

Can't really go wrong with a Kershaw....just find one the size/style you prefer and roll with it.

I would look more at blade composition. Some use crappy Chinese steel that dulls quickly and won’t hold an edge. If your not worried about rust go high carbon blade. I prefer American but Opinel is hard to beat and cheap. I use a #7.

If you like stainless I prefer a S30v or better but your not gonna get that for $30. It’s a little harder to sharpen but holds a edge really well and once it’s sharp it’s nothing to touch it up. If you want cheaper and easier to sharpen go with a 440c

Best everyday folder for my money is those cheap folding utility lockblades that take the razor blade replacements.

This. And at times they can be had for under $15. When Mark's puts them on sale for that price I'll buy 4-5 of them or more. I switch between carrying one of these and an endura for a folder. My Izula 2 in a kydex sheath set up horizontally at dang near 12 oclock is used for different task than my folder.

How bout just a Buck Stockman. I've carried one with me about my whole life and the sheepsfoot blade is handy as all get out. And if you need to castrate a Democrat you got a blade handy for that too.

Get to know your Grandpa's pocket knife. Ain't tacticool but they do work.

I prefer something with a pocket clip. Much easier than looking like you're playing with yourself with your hand in the bottom of your pocket. Kershaw,Gerber, and SOG make good ones

OKC rat is, indeed, an excellent cost-effective knife. i'd rank it the equal of the dozier ...

My EDC is a SOG Sideswipe . Holds an edge well, blade has a very rigid spine and it sharpens easily

No .. I usually hook the clip with my fingers and slide it right out...Working where I do, well did, I needed something that was as deeply concealed as I could get it...No one at my current duty station gives a rip

Kershaw Shuffle. Wide, stout blade, pocket clip, takes and holds an edge well, and at $15, I carry one, keep one in the truck, and have a couple spares in the house, should I need one!

If you don't mind blems in the finish the blur can be had for $40. I have two blem blurs and can not find the blems. I remove the speed safe springs and they are very smooth knifes with a great edge. if you need cheaper the Kabar Dozier is very hard to beat.

Kershaw Hotwire 1310WM - less than $10 at Walmarks. Light but sturdy, will get razor sharp and holds an edge fairly well. There's no telling how many $50 - $100 knives I've lost over the years, especially the clip style. The Hotwire has the clip positioned so that when you pull it out of your pocket, your index finger is on the blade assist. I like this knife better than some much more expensive.
