I don't see how anyone could blame him for leaving if he thinks he has a better opportunity somewhere else to get to the next level. That goes for him Jalen Hurts and anyone else in that situation.

If he can live without a lake, he can come to AU and be in familiar surroundings since, like Lewis Grizzard said, "Clemson is Auburn with a lake".

I said that in jest, but word now is AU is one of the teams under consideration.

Clemson has Dabo and auburn has the booger eater. Big difference there

And Lewis Grizzard was dead before anyone had even heard of Dabo or Gus. Actually the similarities between the two are pretty astonishing in their football origins and schools. I had two neighbors in grad school that did their undergrad at Clemson and said going from there to AU was one of the easiest adjustments they ever had to make.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Kids have been used and spit out AKA processed for years.. They should be able to leave at any time. You want a kid on your team who wants to be there.

Seems to me if you can't lock down the starter job in college that the NFL might not be your life's calling....just sayin

Easy adjustment?? Socially you’re probably right, but going from Dabo and Clemson that has been near the top every year he’s been there and playing at such a high level is hardly an easy adjustment going to Auburn’s Gus??? Where expectations are always sky high at the beginning of the year only to crash and burn, players leaving, supposed “offense genius” who currently has his offense at the bottom of the SEC, Defensive Coordinator that appears to be about ready to jump ship. If he ends up at Auburn, it will be because the yeller man and once again opened his wallet. Socially Yes, Football Not even close.

He could start for AU tomorrow. He has all the skills set to run the Malzahn high school offense.
I don't think you all realize just how good Trevor Lawrence is now or how good he will become in the future. He was the #1 QB from Georgia last year and would have come to UGA if Justin Fields had not signed.

I'm sick of all the titty babies that are scared of competition, and yet think they are going to the NFL. Most kids that transfer, you never hear from again.

There are quite a few quarterbacks that transfer and make a significant impact.

I don't know anything about the kid, but I think he's making the right decision for him and he's certainly good enough to start at a lot of solid college football teams in the power 5.

I don't think he's that good of a QB. I've watched quite a bit of their games over the last 2 years and he just seemed average at best. I doubt he'll have success anywhere else...

Trevor Lawrence was NEVER going to UGA. He committed to Clemson nearly a year before Fields committed to UGA.

He needs to steal something or get kicked out of a school first. He would be much more attractive to AU if he did...

How many of you think Saban was correct in leaving Tua on the bench all season? You think he really didn't beat out Jalen in practice ? Heck he may still be on the bench, or at another school if Jalen hadn't crapped the bed in the championship game. Lots of reasons one kid may start over another and it may not always be on the field performance.

I said most, not all. Cam Newton, Russell Wilson, Zach Mettenberger, Baker Mayfield, Chad Kelley and Jacob Coker are the only ones out of 100's that I can think of and only about 2 or 3 of those have done anything in the NFL. Wilson was graduate transfer and just wanted to be on a better team.

You are probably right. But he thinks he can and he should have the chance to find out for himself if he can find a place to play.
