I’ve always used a regular Scott release with a wrist strap. A lot of my buddies are switching to the fancy handheld 4 finger thumb releases that TruFire makes. Tell me why I should or shouldn’t get one and what kind of you think I should.

They’re not for everyone. Best thing you can do is try one of your buddies releases a see if you like it.

I shot a Carters Big Kid 3D for years. Tried a wrist strap trigger from Scotts (IIRC). Went back to my Carters. The trigger is so much more crisper than a Scotts.

I prefer a handheld thumb release (Carter Chocolate Lite) BUT there's no way I'd make a change that major this close to bow season. There's more to it than swapping releases. Most of the time your peep sight will need to be moved along with a sight adjustment, d-loop may need to be shortened or lengthened, possible draw length adjustment to accommodate your new anchor point, and even in extreme instances the bow may need to be retuned.

Yessir! I’m always gonna shoot what makes me happy and I want everyone else to do the same! If you shoot one be proud of it and don’t worry what anyone else thinks. - SJ22
