I’ve always been a Lowe’s guy myself because they seem to have always had more help in the store, but I’ve noticed the last few trips they are short staffed too now. And the ones they have working there don’t know anything about their department.

Lowes hands down unless your buying paint.
That Behr primer plus paint is really good IMO.

If you need a 5' piece of trim, you can get one at Home Depot. At Lowes, you have to buy the whole 8' piece of trim. Behr Paint is great from Home Depot, Valspar from Lowes sux! The only thing I buy at Lowes is tools, they stand behind the tools they sell.

anything heavy that I will need help loading I get from Home Depot. Lowes help sux.
I bought 30 8" cement blocks from HD. Parked by the stack, went in and paid, they sent three guys out to load it for me.
Lowes, not so much. SOBs will stand there and watch you load stuff even after you ask for help.

It’s a trick question. The answer is neither. Much, much better service at your locally owned stores.

Whoever is cheaper. I find lowes cheaper on electrical and wood. Lowes also has 10% off pro accounts from time to time vs the normal 5%

I'm usually looking for something to do something that it wasn't intended to do. And I usually don't know what it is until I spot it. So they can rarely help me anyway. I agree with this statement. Probably for different reasons though. I'm always creating some crazy game or some sort of cheap way to fix something around the church for youth ministry stuff, anytime someone asks if I need help and I explain it to them, they just stare at me.
