From the article: "The men also admitted that the deer came from a facility in Pennsylvania that tested positive for chronic wasting disease."

Just how damn stupid or more likely arrogant must those guys be? Also reckon how many deer have been smuggled into Alabama from that same place in PA?

I use to have a guy that worked for me that would drive with a buddy all evening on Friday night to Illinois, shoot deer at night from the road and haul them back in the back of the pickup truck. I called one of Marshall counties current GW's, told them who it was, what they were driving and when they'd be coming back home and they still didn't catch them doing it.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Dang..thats what we need to get after. Not the Estrous doe Urine and other stuff. Its coming from dang deer breeders and high fenced places IMO.

Lets concentrate the resources where they NEED to be....where WE SEE it is coming from.

( Caveat: Yall know Im a scent using deer hunter. I like Estrous doe scent..and I think it works!)

BTW can we use the urine from a freshly harvested DOE during the rut, that lived in Alabama, was shot in Alabama and the urine removed and used for scent?

Id really like to know this answer, as at least this way we can STILL use doe estrous scent.

Just plain stupid. If I wanted to grow big bucks in a pen I think I could do it legally with good food and available good genetics from other farms in Alabama.

exactly.

the fact that they brought deer from a farm that had CWD positive deer should of gotten them both solid jail time. They got off light.

It just shows how arrogant and selfish these azzholes are to jeopardize the resources of the state so they can shoot a bottle-fed genetic freak inside a fence.

Like Troy said, these Dipschitts got off light. Punishment for serious game law violations should involve time in the pen.

part of the problem is to many believe that alabama can't produce big deer .

Worst part is a storm knocked down the high fence, and the deer escaped the enclosure. That's a sure bet to spread the disease.

MDWFP is testing deer killed near the high fence as a result. The convicts are having to pay $120,000 each to fund the testing...still got off light.

Deer are to be tested for CWD.... So they're going to kill all the deer in the high fence?

Problem in Alabama is most of the regulators have connections with high-fence operations. Just look who serve on boards, committees, legislators, even our future Lt Gov operates a high-fence. Just my $.02 I think that is a major conflict of interest. I’ve been in several high-fences in Alabama (never as a hunter) everyone of them were openly hunting over bait. Rules don’t seem to apply to regulators or their buddies who contribute to their interest.

You are correct Sir, not a conflict of interest in Alabama for CAB members to vote on rules and regs that can directly effect their bank accounts. rolleyes

The whole high fence deal is out of control in Alabama , and it happened fairly quickly, anything that is done now is like closing the barn door after the horse ( deer in this case) is out.

I'm not so sure nothing can be done. If the general walking around public knew about these practices, and it was on the 5 o'clock new everyday, I strongly believe something would/could be done about it!

Seems these guys got it pretty light. Remember the guy that brought the deer in Alabama and got caught to the tune of about $750,000?
