I have a Texas 075 Traeger , good thing I got it for bout 1/2 price, I'm gonna sell it and prolly get a Pit Boss, they are advertised to maintain 500 degrees , they look heavier built than a Traeger. The Traeger won't get hot enough for me, it used to get to bout 450 , now won't get to 400. The new Pit Boss has a 5 year warranty too.

We passed the hat at work and bought a Pit Boss. It gets used probably 4 days a week on average. It’s very nice. I personally own a traeger and the Pit Boss is definitely heavier built and gets hotter than the traeger. You won’t be disappointed.

Comparing comparable sizes , looks like the Pitt Boss is 30-40% cheaper than the Traeger.

I was wondering what they are doing at 500 degrees. Cool that thing down to 225 and smoke a butt or some ribs.

I have a relatively cheap grill with porcelain grates that I can adjust the charcoal all the way up to within 2 inches of the grate using a crank handle and worm gear, gives me a nice char on steaks. My son bought it for me at Walmart. Think its a chargriller or something like that.
