Been playing around with a new-to-me old Stevens 220A 20 ga (28" barrel that mics .581"), and can't wait to tote it in the woods. Here's the way it shoots some new-this-summer 2-3/4" 20 ga loads: 40 yds, 10" and 20" circles 2-3/4" 1-5/8 oz - 1078 fps, 11448 psi (new Gualandi wad) 2-3/4" 1-3/4 oz - 1181 fps, 10182 psi 2-3/4" 1-7/8 oz - 1146 fps, 11548 psi I was pretty pleased with how the fixed full choke shoots them, though I'm certain I'll be seeing some more impressive numbers with proper turkey chokes. But dang, that thing kicks pretty durn good with the 1-3/4 oz and 1-7/8 oz payload at that velocity!

You said it kicks pretty good, but I bet it'll be easy to tote! Good looking patterns

Nice work Hal. Bet it will be a joy to tote.
Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

Hal do you expect these new recipes to feed through an automatic? If so I’d be interested in trying the 1 7/8.

Hal I’m shooting the franchi affinity. If the recoil is the same as your new moa 2 1/8 oz recipe I can live with that.
