Looking for nicer TJ or YJ (92-up) with 6 cylinder, 5 speed, 4wd. Mostly am looking for one unmolested but will consider one with mild upgrades and mild lift. Not interested in mud rigs, super lifted with huge tires. I want one well maintenance and taken care of with no issues. Needs to be good enough to be a daily driver. Must have clean title. Cash in hand.

This is going to be difficult to find. Most have either lots of mods or have been rode hard and put up wet or have rust issues. I know, because I looked for a long time and then just got lucky when I found mine. I would stick with a TJ if I were you and you wanted to daily drive it. With the right shocks, they can actually ride pretty good for a Jeep.

What is the upper end of your budget? Asking for a friend... grin

From what he listed it will need to be around $10k+ for a TJ and $6500+ for a YJ.

Yep. That’s about right. I’d like to stay around 8k or less.

Well... I don't think I would consider anything less $9000 for mine and I might not even consider that. I honestly don't think I could replace mine for that..

Mine is a 1997 Sahara in green with a tan and green interior and has:

4.0 Liter 6 cylinder
5 speed manual
Excellent condition
New Bestop top
New Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain tires
Original "Gambler" 5 hole alloy wheels
New Radiator
New oil pressure sending unit
New Quadratech floor mats
Cold A/C
Hot heat
New front and read bumpers
New fog lights
New Molle seat covers with lots of storage pouches on the seat backs.

It needs nothing. We drove it to the beach earlier this year and drive it to the cabin almost every weekend.

Mileage plays a big factor in price regardless of how clean they are.

Monday, I saw a pretty sweet looking red jeep FS sitting on county road 2 off Vaughn Road past Macon east. Looked good enough for me to turn around and go look at it. Think it was for $4900. Wish I could remember the year but seems like it was either late 90's or early 2000's. If anyone around east Montgomery can snap a pic of it they can send it to you. I'll be out that way this weekend and if it's still there I'll do it.

I would go with a hard top also.

Been wanting a Jeep for years but never been a necessity so kept putting it off to pay for more important things. I’m in no hurry and can wait for the right one.

There is a nice YJ sitting on Mt Olive Road, just north of Gardendale.. About 3 miles off the interstate by Shaw Building Supply. I don't know anything about it, but it catches my eye every time I drive by. Red with hard top. Looks like a small lift...on 31's... Price looks to be $8850. But I may be wrong.

I have a 2006 Jeep TJ (the last year they made the TJ), 4.0 in-line 6, OME 2.5” lift, hard top, winch, aftermarket bumpers, 6 speed manual transmission. Excellent condition 2 owner zero rust.

130,000 miles.
Not for sale
If it was it would be $13,000

Mine has 150k on it and it runs like it was new. Great engines these old TJ's.
