I Loaned My weed eater to my neighbors and now it no longer runs. I am curious about the battery powered weed eaters and was wondering if anyone had one or had used one and what you thought about it? I have a larger yard but not much weed trimming , max time would be 15mins

I have a Kobalt 40v and my gas powered trimmer now just hangs on the wall. I too only have about 15 mins and it handles it no problem. It's not so much run time though, it's more with how thick of stuff you are weed eating thru that kills the battery.

We are a distributor for Milwaukee and the 18V weed eater with a 9ah battery will run 2hrs. My manager tested it on 2 baseball fields inside and outside the fence and still had half a charge.

I bought the blower since I already had Milwaukee drills and impacts, and it is awesome

The kolbalt 40v will go 45 minutes on a full charge. After my last gas burner crapped out I decided I would never deal with a gas weed eater again.

I’ll never go back to gas. I bought the Worx brand 40V weed eater/ edger combo and blower and have been using them all summer.

My brother was using one at my mother's this weekend. He paid 100 bucks for it at lowes with a blower. It was pretty impressive.

I have a 40v Ryhobi that is great for neighborhood sized houses. I used the heck out of it at my old house, but now it just sits in the corner of the shop unused. I'd sell it to ya for $50 if you could pick up in Mobile, but looks like that's outta the question.

I just have a mental block on getting an electric weedeater. But I already have a Kobalt hedge trimmer that's good.

I have a Ryobi as well. I live in a townhouse so it takes me all of 5 minutes to weed eat, but it works great.

I have a 40V Greenworks weed eater and blower. I'm not sure how long the battery will last on a charge, because I've always finished before it did. Pull the trigger and it runs and there are no cords, no brainer for my usage.

Only thing about the Kobalt is the bump cap is flimsy. Lowes doesn't have them in stock. I ordered some but it wasn't from Lowes. They need to keep them on the shelf. But it does a good job.

I don't have a battery powered weed eater but I do have some hedge trimmers that are, they work just as good as my plug in trimmers, it takes about an hour to trim all our bushes and they will do that no problem on one charge.

me either; I got a Black & Decker electric weed eater from Wal-Mart, the BrushHog XL (or whatever) & i couldn't be happier; yes, it uses a cord, but i'm only weed eating around my house & i can deal with it WAY better than a freakin' gas motor that won't crank ....

I can't wait for my 10 year old gas weedeater to die so I can buy a electric one.

I have a battery powered dewalt. I also have the drills, sawsall, and circular saw. All run off the same batteries. Just got my mother the electric dewalt push mower. The push mower came with two 6ah batteries. You can run the 5ah on it but they get really hot. The mower will get the areas you can't get into with the riding mower but it doesn't last as long as I figured it would. The weed eater seems to last forever on a charge.
