My buddy down here in Tampa got drawn for the fred Simpson archery hunt. Anyone know if theres places to stay by the property and what kind of deer he could expect to see? Don't mean to stir the pot but that's some Busch league BS that an out of state hunter over 8 hours away gets a tag while locals don't. Oh wait....Non-resident licsenses put more $$$ in the pot. The conspiracy plot thickens haha

I registered for 8 hunts and not 6 and was notified this afternoon that I was not selected for any. Imagine that!!! Got a place to hunt anyway but I thought it would be fun to scout some new ground and hunt it.

Nope: “We’re going to be able to provide some incredible hunting opportunities for people, and it doesn’t cost them anything,” Sykes said. “All they have to do is get a Conservation ID number and register. It’s open to out-of-state hunters as well. People who buy non-resident licenses pay into the system just like residents.” Anyone in America over 16 could potentially enter with no skin off their back. You don't even need a wma license to apply, you just have to purchase one if you're selected. (Edited: 16 is the age not 18)

I just looked all over the website and I didn't find anything that said it was residents only or lifetime licsence holders. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just genuinely curious and can't find anything that says nonresidents cannot apply. I'm assuming nonresidents get Conservation IDs too, right? After looking over the FAQ page for the SOAs and well as the SOA page in general, I never saw the words "resident" or "non-resident"; only "permit holder".
