😂 I’ll bring my track shoes!

We’re still gonna do that if you’ll have me! It’s my fault for not making the time.

Landowner rights are a good thing. It is still possible to walk miles in every direction, as long as we have permission to be on that land.

WB we philosophically disagree when Moultrie would get up and tale a tail of poor downtrodden landowners just to set his agenda for high fences at the start of the CAB. It was sickening!

I'm on record opposing high fencing. High fencing is Pandora's Box. Look at Texas to see where it leads.

High fencing also complicates the state's mandate to protect and manage wildlife resources. Say you own 80 acres and enjoy hunting free range. Then your neighbor decides to high fence his land bordering you on three sides. You want free range. He wants high fence. Who is right?

OK, I've got a problem with this. Didn't we decide by statewide vote a number of years back that hunting is a Right and not a privilege in Alabama? Semantics, sure but it could make the difference.

A couple of years ago a friend and I leased sole turkey rights from a deer club. We showed up in camp the night of the 14'th and went and ran our cameras in the black dark to see where we needed to start the next morning. I noticed we were getting pictures of a dude in a red jeep pretty often so I called the lease holder whom we had leased the rights to. He said..."That's ol Bobby", he's probably just running around getting his stuff because he wasn't getting back in the club the next season. The next morning we go over to the property and the ol boy is sitting inside the gate putting on turkey gear. We stopped and talked to him and he became pretty belligerent and instead of winding up in a brawl we backed out and notified the guy running the lease. We ran into the guy coming out and he apologized for how he acted that morning and said that the club president never told him he couldn't turkey hunt when he joined. The club president called me the following day and told me it had been taken care of and he was told to stop hunting and remove his stuff from the property. Well lo and behold the next weekend rolled around and there he was coming in the gate to turkey hunt. We kind of felt sorry for the guy if what he said was true so we just decided to let the season ride out and put him in the rear view mirror because he wasn't a turkey hunter. He just sat on a field in a blind for a couple hours each morning and those birds were too smart than to walk into a greenfield like that. Anyway it rocked on about two weeks and I went in to check my cameras one day and the SD cards were not inserted. They were there but they had been clicked out so they were not engaged to the camera. The next day I went to a different side of the property and the SD cards were gone out of my cameras. I talked to the President and he said that is exactly why they kicked ol Bobby out in the first place, and then I found out he had been sending the President threatening texts and threatening to whoop me and my buddy and everybody else killing his turkeys. That afternoon my wife joined me and we ran across his vehicle back in the property. I was pretty mad about my SD cards so I decided that I was going to wait on him at his Jeep and take care of that business. My wife freaked out and didn't want me to stay because she knew I'd hurt him and probably wind up in court. So to appease her I left and we went to Wal Mart and bought new locks for the gates because that's what we were instructed to do. The following weekend I go back to hunt my other property down there and I drop by to check my cameras. I immediately see where a vehicle has climbed a bank and drove through the thinned pines to circumvent the gate. I go in and I have a camera missing (the same one that the SD card came up missing out of). At this point I drive around searching for him because now it's on. I never did find him but I went ahead and pulled all my cameras and I actually had pictures of his Jeep driving around on the property after I changed the locks. I couldn't prove he took the camera off the tree but I could prove he was hunting without permission. So I called the Game Warden and I turned over every piece of photo and video evidence I had. The Warden visited the lease holder and took his statement and got all of the threatening text messages from the guy. I signed the paperwork and had him arrested and a court date was set up. We went in there and I presented all the evidence to the judge but at the end of the day the judge asked to see our permits to hunt the property that states "sole turkey rights", and then he asked Bobby to show him his. He said he didn't have one and the judge slammed his gavel down and said "Then I'm finding you guilty and you will owe the state $1300 for hunting without permission. Furthermore I am sentencing you to 30 days in jail, but that will be suspended pending you pay your fine by the end of the business day next Friday". Then he said "Hunting is a huge part of our economy Mr. "redacted", and these men and women who come here are easily turned away by poachers like yourself. I don't take too kindly to that". Then he dismissed us.

I texted him on the way home and told him to enjoy that $1300 used camera.

I have made about 20 trespassing cases using Spartan cellular cameras on leases. Funniest one involved two Mexicans. The Spartan camera uploads pics so they can be viewed on phone app. I'm flipping thru pics late one night and see two gun toting dudes with a spotlight walking. I forward it to the game warden and let him know they are there right now. Suspects are caught within the hour. Turns out they were rabbit hunting to try and feed their family. I agreed with the officer to let them go with a warning. All this happens in the boondocks and nearly a mile behind locked gates. They finally ask the officer how he knew they were there. The officer tells them that the property is being monitored from satellites in space. He said the look on their face was priceless.
