Gonna get a set of these skinner sights for the Marlin. I don’t know which front sight I should get, any input or expertise?

FYI, my front sight is ramped and 3/8” base. Just not sure of height

I'd get the fiber optic.

I use these on my Henry’s and Marlins. I use the dovetail peep with it so I still have receiver options. A green fiber dot like a hiviz works best all round though with the peep as a ghost.

I’ve used, have, and have installed maybe 100 of these

And some of these

Williams has them too.

This combo works so well for hunting, I sold my Burris Fast Fire 3’s

If you go with the skinner front, get a a high and just spend a little while with a file getting it where you want it. Use a bit of sandpaper or diamond hone to smooth it then use a blueing pen.

I ordered a Skinner rear wing sight and a new front sight this weekend. I’m gonna shoot the factory sights, see where they are on paper, take measurements, then put on the rear sight first and repeat. Hopefully they will be close.
I haven’t got to shoot this gun yet so I look forward to getting a little trigger time.
I always wanted one of these 336 Marlins, I bought one but my eyes just don’t focus well with these buckhorn sights.

basic black thick post, 3/8" wide. Highest you can get. Range time with load you will hunt with and a file. File down to hit dead on at 100-125 yds and touch up with bluing solution.

Got the rear sight on, as soon as I get an off day I will get the front tapped out and new one mounted. Can’t wait.
I got a box of 150 and a box of 180 grain Remington core lokt for starters.

I'm about convinced that I'm gonna have to get one of those barrel mounted skinner sights on the Model 94 I've been tinkering with. No matter where I put the front sight in the "V" notch, I cannot seem to get the elevation right with that semi-buck horn sight. As much as I hate it, I may have to go back and put a scope back on it. I want to keep it as close to sleek and classic look as possible but I will not take a gun to the woods that I don't have 100% confidence in and I really want to kill a deer with this rifle. If you get that skinner sight, let us know how it does.

Also, check out the video on YouTube on how the 150gr Core-Lokt worked. 28in through ballistic gel at 100 yards with perfect mushrooming and 2156fps 20ft from muzzle. Will kill any deer all day long with good shot placement.

Finally got around to shooting the 336 today. I Put the skinner peep and front blade sight on it a while back. Today I was shooting about 8” low and 2” left. After some filing on the front sight and adjustment to the rear, I was shooting 1” groups at 60 yards from bench rest. Hardly any noticeable difference between the 170 and 150 grain. This rifle seems to like the 150 grain Remington core-lokt bullets over the 170 grain, or I was just squeezing the bang switch a little better on the 150’s
Very pleased with the results of the rifle , sights and ammo.
I’m gonna try and bag a couple with this setup
