I lived down there for a long time. Went to school and played football at UWA. You really can't throw a rock and not hit a deer down there. I think I hit three or four with my car while I was driving around Sumter County. Not near as many down that way as it was 20-30 years ago. There is still certain areas with high populations but not like it use to be. I know a place about 3 miles as the crow flies from this club covered up with deer. And land close to this place not so much.

Well the good news is, the Brass Monkey is still there, so if the deer aren't moving you can go tie one on and flirt with all the college girls. Hell I talked myself into it, I'm interested now, that one spot still available?

Closed the monkey many a night. Owned by my kin folks. Give em some business if you down that way. Heard there may be a sports bar coming to town soon Jared is actually getting ready to sell the place, I talked to him about a week ago. Not sure of time frame but he did tell me the bar is gonna be put up for sale in the near future. Also, he is selling several trailers on county road 12. That might benefit some of the Sumter County hunters in this thread who need a place to stay if they don't live down there. Might could buy one of those trailers off of him pretty reasonable, kick out the college kids who were renting the place, and have a place to stay when you wanna go to the Bar- I mean, excuse me- Deer hunt.

I’ve been looking for a place for a hunting camp. I would be interested in a spot down there. PM me a contact number.
