Fount the biggest shed I've ever seen up in my neck of the woods anyone accurate with telling the age? I'll send pics to anyone that think they can tell me.

Telling the age from the shed?

Just trying to figure out if this deer is in his prime or on the downfall no cam pics of him yet but you can bet I'll be moving a camera out there. The antler is really thick.

If it's really thick you have to count up the total inches of the shed and divide the rings, for the most accurate aging. 60"÷8 rings= 7.5 year old.

In july and August round up to nearest whole number

That’s not right. You forgot that you have to subtract the number of tines from the number above. Your example, if he was a typical 8 point (meaning a 4x4), would mean he was only 3.5 (or 3 in your July/August example)

60”/8 rings = 7.5

Then 7.5 MINUS the number of tines (4) would mean he was only 3.5.

This deer in question could just be reaching his prime!

It's pretty easy. Just saw it in half and count the rings.

Don't forget to weigh it and factor in 2/3s of that into the equation, too.

Just score that side and put a 16 inch spread in the mix and x2 it'll be close to the potential but could be way off if he's one sided

Scoring seems confusing isn't there like four different ways?
I found the shed by a rub I seen last year (in this area a 4 pt spike and a button head is all I had on camera) biggest buck ive killed off of our land was a basket 6 i seen this when i was dumping rice brain and corn and it got me overly excited. If anyone wants pictures my number is 2563380734
