Mine is easy. In 1987 I went one Dec day to fish a tx with an old Army buddy. We only fished red crankbaits. He was stationed there and knew the lake well. We fished the South end and quickly had a limit. The water was low. We were fishing creeks with stumps. He hung his Red model A on a stump and trolled over to it. He reeled down to the lure and poked it to free it. When it came off the stump a 5 pounder ate it. Man that was wild, but he caught it. I figure the fish was watching it and when it popped off it was all he could stand.it. What has surprised you?

I was young, maybe 12-14. To the right of Tommy's Marina gas pump there was a grass flat. This was the middle of the day, middle of the summer. Me and one of my friends were wade fishing and I was throwing a fly rod with a Schuman's cricket. I saw to me what looked like a bass swirl on the edge of the grass. I casted over there with the cricket and WHAM the bas attacked it. I set the hook and game on. I fought that bass for about 15-20 seconds all the while my Dad, Tommy and some other guys were hollering "get him in". They were all under the old cherry tree shooting the chit. The bass finally turned straight toward me and I started stripping line by hand as fast as I could. The bas got within maybe 10 feet of me jumped and spit the cricket out of his mouth. Best I can remember he looked in the five pound range. I just stood dazed for a minute thinking, "what the hell just happened"?. I turned around and all of the men were laughing their arses off at what just happened. I wish I could go back just once to those days..............................

Had basically same thing happen. Took rod and poked off down thru millfoil to see how shallow it was. came up with a 4.5# largemouth.

Another would be seeing a rabbit swim across a river.

Had a barred owl come down out of a tree and grab a spook I was working and try to fly off with it.

Fishing a Cyprus slough on the Aliceville lake one day. The banks were really thick, and you couldn't see in the woods. All of a sudden we here something making all kinds of racket just inside the woods. About that time a squirrel came flying out of the bushes and landed on a dead Cyprus tree about 10' off the bank. Up that Cyprus tree it went and right on it's tail was a bobcat. They both made it about 20' up the tree before they realized that our boat was right beside them.

This wasn't bass fishing but its a heck of a story. I was 13 or so and my family were down in Gulf Shores on vacation. One night we all decided to head to the pier and see what we could catch. We are prob half way down the pier fishing and my little sister drops her rod straight into the water. I remember she was so upset. We had made our way closer to shore as the night went on and about an hour after my sister dropped her rod in the water my brother feels as tug from a fish (or what he thought was a fish). Somehow after an hour or so my brother caught the rod my sister had dropped in the gulf. My mom took a picture of my brother with the rod hanging on the hook at the place you can take picture of your fish. I wish I knew where that picture was.

I'll add another. This was last summer on Neely Henry. I was fishing a slough that had an island separating it from main river. I heard a splash, two big ole red does hit the water, swam across the slough to another island and across another slough to some houses. About 5 minutes later, I hear a beagle running like hell. The beagle hits the water exactly where the does went in, swam across the slough, lost the trail for a minute on the other island, bayed again and he was off. I hit the TM on high to get around the point to see the beagle barking and running through someones back yard right beside their pool. He went off into the woods after them. That was a hell of a dog to pick that scent up and knowing the deer swam that slough. He might have done that before....................

1st time i used braid was on g-ville. I tied the wrong knot ( was fishing a frog) a fish blew up on it, set the hook and knot came undone. My buddy said " i will catch him for you". His very next cast( using a frog) reeled in the very fish i had break off. He had my frog and his in his mouth and was about 3lbs.

I was fishing the back of a pocket one morning. There were a few stumps sticking up out of the water. They was a small squirrel playing on the bank and eventually ended up in a tree kinda hanging over the water. As I watched the young squirrel noticed a bid ol acron laying in the middle of one of the stumps. Finally it went out on a small limb the was over the stump. As the squirrel went out his weight made the limb sag down to the stump several feet. When he jumped onto the stump the limb swung up to it's orginal heigth. Having finishing his acron the squirrel couldn't jump high enough to catch the limb so after trying and failing a few times it jumped into the water to swim about 10 feet back to the shore.
Then when he was about half way back a huge bass came up and swallowed him whiole. I was amazed. In a lifetime of fishing I had never seen anything even remotely close to such an event. I only had a couple minutes to reflect on what I had just seen.

Then suddenally, something even more amazing happened................

That big ol bass flopped up onto that stump and laid another acron on it and jumped back in the lake.

LMAO @ CT!

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Old joke TC, be ashamed for lying to us! slap

BC, I'm no owl expert so I don't know what brand it was, but something very similar happened to me one. I was throwing a spinnerbait in a creek on the North end of Livingston, in Texas. An owl flew down on a limb. Each time I cast the owl followed it to the water with his eyes and head. Each time he lurched, but never took off. About the fourth time I moved off. I decided I was in no mood to fight an owl that day.

Another odd occurrence was once on Lay I was throwing a brand new chrome Norman DD22 at the mouth of Peckerwood Creek. I hung up, but after a couple of jerks it came free. When I reeled my lure up, another DD22 identical to it was hanging on it. There was about 5 ft of line on it, but it looked as new as mine.

If you've fished much, you've all had crazy things happen on the water. I was with two guys fishing the North end of Eufaula in 74. The guy that owned the new bassboat had taken us out to show it off. We got to the first spot and he moved from the console to the front deck. his first cast he threw the only rod he had brought into the lake. In 25 mins that trip had begun and ended.

Once on Lake Livingston my partner got bitten by the bank monster(fishermans term for going to the bank to take a dump) While he was on the bank, bass came up schooling. I put 5- 3 pounders in the livewell while he was gone. When he returned I had a hell of a time explaining how I had caught those fish in the livewell.

I've seen some odd stuff but the funniest was me and my brother took my niece fishing in a pond at our grandparents place. We've caught some 4lb bass out of this pond. His daughter is 2.5 years old and has a small pink rod with actual fishing line on it and a 2" long 1/4"thick rubber blue fish toy tied on it. We was fishing and caught some 2lbers and some blue gill. I was throwing hers out there for her and she'd real it in saying here fishy fishy she was having a blast. The last time I casted her rod for her it got a little close to some cat tails but wasn't hung up so I handed it back and let her start feeling it in and when she got about 4ft from the bank one of those 3-4lb fish snatched that little rubber fish of the top the water and took off with it she held on to the rod when the fish took all the line that was on the reel it snapped off. Me and my brother was laughing to hard because she never moved a muscle and just kept staring at the pond like she was in shock then started reeling in till she realized it wasn't on there any more then turned to us shrugged her shoulders asked us where'd it go then went back to calling the fish here fishy fishy. Now her little rod sports 12ft or so of braided line I had left over and a small rapala fish that I took the hooks off of.

A buddy and I was pulling some jigs Crappie fishing and I was telling him about a Largemouth I had found struggling on the surface a few weeks before. It had tried to swallow a bluegill that was just a bit to big to swallow so there it was hung in its mouth and they were both about dead.
Before I finished telling about it we saw some commotion on the surface about 30-40 yards directly in front of the boat.
When we got up to it, it was basically the same thing. Only difference was it was a Shellcracker that had almost been a meal for a Largemouth. The bass swam off when we separated them, but the Shellcracker just flipped a few times and not much else. I doubt it made it.

Was at Paradise Point Marina years ago waiting to meet a friend there to bass fish. He was bringing his boat up and I was going to meet him there. A tournament weigh in was just concluding and a bunch of guys were standing around. I had just gotten a new flipping stick and decided to take it down to the lake by the dock and try it out. First practice flip into the grass and a 5 pound bass pounded it. Fought him in and landed it right in front of about 100 guys standing there! Ha Ha I just released him and walked back to the truck just like I did that every day.

We went fishing on Lay one Feb probably back in the early 90's and it was cold, cold, cold. I wanted to leave, but my uncle (who is not a deer hunter at all) was die hard and wanted to stay. A little later in the morning my uncle says "Look at that". I look and there's a really good 8 point swimming across Lay Lake. I wanted to get a close look at him so I cranked the big motor and eased up there closer to him. My uncle was sitting on the front deck and when the boat floated up beside the deer he grabbed the damn thing by the antlers and started trying to pull him into the boat. I started screaming "NO!" and jumped out of my seat and tackled him on the front deck. He gets up all mad and asks me what I'm doing. I told him if he pulled that big joker up in the boat with us that he'd killed both of us. Big dummy.

I took my childhood best friend fishing on Neely Henry one day near Hokes Bluff. We were both just kids, maybe 18-19 years old. We went back in this slough and in the very back there was a little shack with a small pier in front. I noticed about a 20 foot piece of cane pole zip tied to the rails of the pier and it was about doubled over. There was something serious on the other end of that cane pole. So I sat there fishing and kept watching that pole which looked like it was going to break at any second and man, I had to know what was on that line. I had no intention of taking anything as I was raised better than that, but I really had no business even touching it, but I just had to see what was on that pole. So I ease over there with the trolling motor and grab ahold of the line and start pulling. I pulled it up and it was a huge alligator snapping turtle, I mean one as big around as a 20 inch truck tire. As soon as it broke the water I let the line go satisfied knowing what it was. My buddy Eric says "What was it?", and I told him it was a huge turtle. He says "I want to see". So I grab the line and pull again. As soon as the turtle broke the surface all hell broke loose! I heard running footsteps behind me and over my left shoulder I seen a shotgun barrel appear and BLAM!!!!! I seen that turtles head and left leg disentigrate and the next thing I know I was in the bottom of the boat looking up at the sky. That joker had a 20 ga NEF in his tackle bag that he kept for snakes and he thought it would be funny. I sat up and felt the back of my head which was hurting and when I drew my hand back it was covered in blood. I was about disoriented and then I look over and there is a dude coming out of that shack with a shotgun. This dude was huge and real gruff looking. I don't know if any of you seen the Haloween remakes from a few years back where Michael Myers was this friggin huge 6'7 beast of a man with a long matted up beard, but that's what this guy reminded me of. He was dressed in old military garb that was so tattered and ripped up that it looked like it was going to fall off him at any minute. I jumped up and got the big motor cranked and slammed the throttle down trying to get away from the serial killer looking dude that was bearing down on us. We were in about 2 foot of water and the big motor was throwing a rooster tail of mud 50 feet high. We went and trailered that boat and I've fished Neely Henry hundreds of times since that day but I have NEVER went up in that creek again.

TopCat: The only elective class I was allowed to take at NC State back in the day was 'American Folklore'. The guy who taught that class last name was Betts.... and was somehow kin to the folks that owned the Betts fishing lure/tackle company.

I made an A in that class, and I'm pretty certain it was for telling that acorn spitting Bass and the squirrel story. I guess he'd never heard it before, but by the end, I had him howling at the podium. He basically called a time out, and gave the class about 5 minutes to compose itself before we continued. It's a good one! and I hadn't thought about it in years.

Read some of the Louisiana fishing forums about this subject. Crazy stuff.

I read once where a guy was waay back in the swamp gator fishing and came across a clearing that had a giant Cyprus stump surround by about 30 pairs of shoes pointed in. The dude said the shoes went from so wore out and old that they were barely held together to brand new. That's some voodoo junk right there.

Fishing with a friend back in the 70’s when we were teenagers. I was worm fishing and he was throwing the infamous “Hellbenderâ€. All of a sudden he sets the hook and starts carrying in like its the first fish he’s ever caught. He hollers out “ he’s fixin to jump “ well it did... that damn coot broke the water, took flight and never slowed down. We laughed and talked about the one that got away for the rest of the day. Good times...

It's a good one, for sure! I'm glad you resurrected it... I told it to a couple of young guys at work this morning. Had them 'on the hook' all the way up to the end! LOL

Took a buddy to fish pier lights on Lake Martin several years back. He brought one rod with (1) super fancy blinking red light crankbait and was gonna "show me how it was done". First pier light, 1st cast....one of those 3ft long black shadows reached out and grabbed his "magic" lure. The fight was on and lasted every bit of 5-6 seconds when the big stripe spooled him because he only had 50-60yds of line on his spinning reel. I'll never forget the look on his face as that fish swam off with his high dollar blinking lure in corner of its mouth.

This is one of my favorite fishing memories and probably the craziest thing I've seen while fishing. On my 15th bday my dad took me fishing in the TN river. We put in at Goosepond. Fished a while and decided to hit some spots close to guntersville. About the time we were coming around the bend at Langston, before you get waterfront, we saw a massive feeding frenzy. We pulled over and trolled up to them. Tied on some chrome rattletraps and absolutely slayed the white bass and hybrids for the next hour. We caught some good largemouth and even a couple really big crappie. Never seen anything like it since. This was the biggest frenzy I've ever seen and they didnt last long. I've seen small ones but this was on a different scale and it lasted a while. Anyone else ever happened up on anything like that before?

I heard Bill Dance tell it back in the late 70's. I've used it a lot too...

JBL, it's odd but fish school more actively on some lakes. I've never seen anywhere that compares with schooling activity on Toledo Bend.
If they school in a spot today, they'll be there tomorrow. Unless there is a radical weather change. Usually they will reappear within 30 mins of time they were there the day before. One year I had paid my entry fee to fish a tx and was boatless when the date rolled around. I had seen them schooling from the bank and the day of the tx, I told the boat owner I just wanted one hour out of that day. I had a limit when we hit that spot. I was ready with a crazy shad by CORDELL. I culled my limit with fish over 2.5 pounds from that schooling. And got a pretty good check too. The only other lake I know of with very good schooling is Clarkshill, located on Ga/SC border. Those fish school on blue back herring and the fish are BIG! They school on many lakes, but on these two you can get on a school and they will be feeding in that area 30 mins or more.
On Clarkshill, they mostly school on points.

TC, I remember the first time I heard that joke. I bit, hook, line and sinker. It's a great joke and needs to be spread.

I love schooling fish. This story is true and not really that strang but tree never the less. I was fishing a tournament on Martin it the late 80's I guess may have been 90'. I had drawn Rick Clunn's brother, half brother maybe, I think. We were fishing near one of Martin's many rock bluff places beating the bank basiclly. Fish started schooling behind us farther off shore. As I glanced pretty sure it was stripe I thought I saw a spot or maybe it was a largemouth but it was a bass. We were fishing jigs but I still had top water on one rod from early on that day because thats what we both were doing. . As I reached for it he ask what I was doing and I told him and he says I'm wasting my time, he was bass fishing. Well, as he watched, first cast I caught about a 3lb bass. Second cast another about like it. He is like Damit. Picks up his rod and proceeds to catch a big stripe as I re-tie. I make another cast with the same results. His next cast another stripe. As he was working changing to what I was fishing I caught one more and then the whole thing was over.

Hadn't thought about that event in years.

I've caught schooling largemouth on Guntersville several times, but the most fun I've ever had catching schooling fish was on West Point Lake in GA. We caught white bass on Zara puppies til we were tired of reeling them in.

I motored over to see what he was yelling about, I heard him say " I'm not going to tell you to put your top on again". He wrote both of em a ticket for no license. After we left I told him it was my policy to let em go if they showed their tits!!!!! He replied they were a couple of lesbians. LOL. Write em up!!!!

When I was probably 14 or 15 I was fishing a pond with a buddy one afternoon after getting off of work at our summer job. This pond is about 15 acres and at the north end, a road runs across it that leads back to a little neighborhood. We were probably 200 or 300 yards from the road fishing in a jon boat and all of a sudden we hear screaming from back towards the road. 3 black guys come running down the hill to the pond and 1 has a broomstick, 1 has a hoe, and 1 is just running with the other two.

From where we are we dont know what is going on but they're all sprinting and hollering. By the time they get down to the pond, they've got our full attention, but they dont know we are there. Then they make it down to the pond and they all circle around on the road and are swinging broomsticks and the hoe l. I still wasnt real sure what was going on but about that time one of them saw us. So then they started yelling for us to come help they had a turtle hemmed up.

I'd never seen a big alligator snapping turtle at that point in my life, and I certainly didn't know they were a delicacy to some folks. We pulled the boat on the bank and got out we could finally see the turtle and he was huge. By the time we got over there the turtle was basically bayed up and didn't have anywhere to go. When we got there the weaponless fella ran down and grabbed our paddle.

That is where thing turned south for the old turtle. The guy with our paddle got him to latch on to the paddle and the guy with the hoe went to work. I guess while all that was going on the guy with the broomstick took off for the truck. I never saw him leave, but the next thing I know he was backing the truck down the hill. He backed right up to the turtle, they chunked him in the back, and they took off like they had 10 gold bars in the back of that truck.

Knowing what I know now, it probably wasn't too strange, but that was pretty crazy the day it happened

Fur I learned to fish a spook on West Point. The hybrids would school there. I've seen them one big school from the train trestle to the mouth of a big creek there and that is around 5 acres. That lake is full of those things. It used to be full of big bass(largemouth) over 8 pounds.

I think the craziest things I've seen are bass being in water - shallow or just nasty - that I wouldn't belive they'd be in. They're truly adaptable.

At the 2000 Bassmaster Classic in Chicago, I went out on media day with Ray Sedgewick. Because of the wind, everyone had to go to the Calumet River. Ray and I went to the harbor mouth because he wanted to see how bad it was on the lake -- it was scary-ass bad -- and then we fished in the harbor around old rusty pipes, metal, docks, collapsed steel and such. It also apparently was a dump/pump-out for someone's sewage system because there were tampons, rubbers and some of the most disgusting looking patches of floating mess in nasty water.

And bass were in there. Not many but we caught some. Gross as hell. I'm glad I was with Nixon on Day one running around marinas.

Speaking of schooling fish, a bunch of yrs ago, me and a buddy were out on Oneida Lake. We were fishing the inside turn of a big bay and I noticed a bunch of Terns diving in the water at the mouth of the bay. We went right out and it was a huge school of Perch minnows that they were feeding on. Well, it turned out that under all those minnows was the biggest school of Smallmouth that I've ever seen. We didn't count, but I'm sure we caught at least 50 before it was over.

buddy and I were fishing Bayou Lacombe near Perchjerker several years ago, way up where it is pretty narrow. We were killing the bass. We came around a bend and there were half dozen neckkid twentyish year old girls on a small dock. They waved, we waved. Brightened up a swampy day. LOL

In the 70's there was a bass guide on Lake Livingston named Randy Dearman. It seems Dearmon had a faulty Mercury Trolling motor. If he was near standing timber when he engaged it, any catfish in the area would try to climb up in that standing timber..It was crazy. big and small catfish trying to climb out of the water. I don't know if it was like an old telephone or put off some other thing that drove the cats crazy. When he stopped running it they went back to acting normal.

Fred's story about Bayou Le WowWow reminded me of a trip at Reelfoot about 15-20 years ago. Was with Billy Blakely out of Bluebank and we were running from the lower end through some canals to another pocket.

Popped out of a cut, rounded the corner and there was an aluminum boat with Ol' Jimmy bowed up on a lass lying on the front deck. She had her legs around him, they looked at us, we waved and he barely slowed down.

This isn’t a bass fishing story but close enough. I had just traded someone on here for an otter stealth 2000 which is a 12 ft duck hunting kayak and i had intended to use it as a frog gigging boat. Well i got home and i couldn’t take it, i had to go get some blood on it. I lived in oxford at the time and their water supply lake is called lake hillabee or something like that. I had never been there before but decided it looked like as good a place as any to gig some frogs. I had made it down one bank to the end of the lake and back down the other side and was across from the boat ramp so i decided to shine my truck from across the lake to make sure there was no one messing with my truck. I saw some red eyes between me and the truck and thought damn that looks like gator eyes but I’m wayyy too far north and knew that sometimes at the right angle a beavers eye reflection will look red so i just wrote it off as a beaver and kept on trying to gig some frogs. Well come to find out this lake didn’t have the frogs i thought it did so i decided to head to the house and i started across the lake to the boat ramp and saw those red eyes again and my curiosity got me. As i got closer, the eyes disappeared and there was no tail slap so i pretty much knew it was a gator. It came up again and let me get pretty close and sure enough it was about a 10 ft alligator. I thought i had made a discovery until i googled it and the gator had been put in there for beaver control. Not long after that a guy that fishes the lake kept posting videos of it on Facebook and got the city of oxford in such an uproar that they hired someone to come kill it and it was indeed a 10 ft alligator.

This one is a bass fishing story. I used to have permission to fish a really good lake in a ritzy subdivision around birmingham. Me and a couple buddies were there one day fishing in an aluminum boat and got sorta close to the beach and a guy and 2 gorgeous girls in their early 20s and someone who appeared to be one of their mothers drive up to the beach and get out a table and start playing beer pong. These people never acknowledged us even though we were pretty close. One of the girls does something to the other girl, what it was i can’t remember but she took off and the other girl started chasing her. Well she finally caught her about 30 feet from our boat and pulled her bikini bottom down to her feet. This girl turns backwards to us and bends over and pulls her bikini bottom back up while yelling at the other girl. She gave us a pretty good view. Those 4 people on the beach never once ever acknowledged us.

Fishing a Whopper Plopper down at our fish camp near Orlando. Had a bass about 7 lbs absolutely smash the lure...set the hook and game on! During the fight, I saw another bass that looked like the hooked fish's identical twin chasing the hooked fish. He was figuring on stealing the other fish's meal. He made his move, darted in and struck, and suddenly I had two 7 lb fish hooked! Lost one as I landed them, landed the other, but had them both hooked, fighting, and beat for about 5 minutes!

The ol stealth is still a fish catching duck killing machine. I’m still taking good care of her and getting her bloody.

During a club tournament on the Alabama River at Montgomery, we saw a guy jump off the I 65 bridge trying to kill himself. He hit the water not too far from a pontoon boat that picked him up. Pretty sure he lived.

We caught some good largemouth and even a couple really big crappie. Never seen anything like it since. This was the biggest frenzy I've ever seen and they didnt last long. I've seen small ones but this was on a different scale and it lasted a while. Anyone else ever happened up on anything like that before?

Pretty often where I fish
i grew up at south sauty and that happens all the time up there...alot of times you catchem till you get tired then try to fish for somethin else and then you cant keep from catchin them. They are alot of fun to catch when they are like that but they can be aggravatin
Especially if your minner fishin and one decides he wants to go postal and tangle everthing up....they dont usually survive if they make it in my boat...id be not very socialble afterwards.

A friend of mine 10-year-old son was walking along the shore at Honeycomb back to the camper. He had is line in the water looking at his plastic worm dancing as he walked. Next thing you know a 6lbs bass ate it. We all were like, what in the world.

I used to “troll†a worm as a kid on golf course ponds and anywhere the shore was clean enough to do it. Caught a bunch of bass like that never one 6lbs though.

Yall seen where they take them cain poles and run a buzzbait atfached to the end of it and fan them across the top of the water bass fishin. Its intrestin to watch..i forget what its called. I always made it a habit throwin crank baits and other plugs to fan them around the boat before lifting and makin another cast. Ive picked up several fish like that that runn to the boat but wouldnt commit and that pause and change in presentatio creates an all new profile for the fish. I never thought to attach it to a stick and just do that...bout 10ft from the boat(or mostly kayakers do it) and just mash em.

I used to do the same thing. I also used to go to one end, leave my bait, and free spool back to the other end of the pond, then work it back. I've caught a pile of fish doing both.

Jiggerpoling, although they use big wooden topwater plugs like a Devil's Horse on steroids.

Here's an old "Outdoors with Archie Phillips" show with jiggerpoling. It's 47 minutes long but the fishing is in the first part of the show.

Several years ago we were night fishing on Smith and my buddy had his boat docked right behind Duncan Bridge Marina in the wet slips. It's just a small slough with a bunch of docks and houses and when we were getting out of the boat and you could hear girls giggling amongst other things. I turned on the spotlight and shined them and they were on a dock in their birthday suits... let's just say locked up.

Years ago below Wheeler Dam - saw a fiberglass boat going down below the launch area. Ran down there to find 4 Messicans freaking out - only 1 could speak English. No life jackets, boat was fully submersed and starting to roll over. Pitched them all life jackets and told the 1 that could speak English to tell his buddies to settle down and quit freaking out or I was going to leave them to drown. They quickly quit flailing around and I hauled every one of their butts in my boat and ran them back to the ramp. Went back and drug their boat back to the ramp (Took FOREVER) then got in the water and helped get it loaded on the trailer. Spent at least 3 hours helping those people and they never even said "Thank you"... What a bunch of ass-hats!

Was on Warrior a few years ago when I heard something running through the woods and noticed it was coming toward me.
I was about 20' from the bank when a deer came sailing through the air and almost landed in my boat, I was just as startled as the deer and she turned and swam back to the bank and ran back in the woods. Never did see what was chasing her but watched her run until I couldn't see or hear her anymore
