If any of y’all want some gville areas I found 2 big schools idling around yesterday. I didn’t drop on them but it was textbook Christmas tree shape. They were in 20ft.

We didn't take a whole lot of pictures. We were too busy catchin fish.

Here's some of the better ones. I don't know if all they have are white crappie, or if that's all we caught. Neither one of us had ever been on that lake. Local reports were that fish were being caught 18' in 25' of water. We got there at 3:00 on Thursday and fished til about 7:00 and caught 28 fish. We caught more fish trolling to the deeper water than we did in the deeper water so Friday we fished more shallow and caught 57. Yesterday we never got in water deeper than 14 feet. We caught fish in as little as 6 FOW. Most people told us they caught 10 shorts per keeper and we did a good bit better than that. Out of the 189 fish we caught we 45 that were 12" or better. 12" is their minimum size to keep on the "Big 4" lakes. We went to push and pull crankbaits and did a whole lot of that, but I got tired of catching so many short fish and wanted to try pushing jigs like we do here but we were moving too fast pulling cranks to push or pull jigs exactly like we do here, so I decided to try a pole with a 1/2 ounce bullet weight, bead, and swivel with 2 jigs on a leader. They slammed that rig and the average size of the fish was much better. I was using a line counter reel with those jigs and I liked the depth control I had with that. I don't know how deep 30 feet of line was running those jigs but I'm going to do more testing to see and may start pulling jigs like that here. One issue with pulling jigs like I have been doing is it's sort of just an educated guess as to how deep they are running. You can pull up in a slough and see when they hit bottom to get the depth but it's a pain. I catch a lot of fish like that but when I can hit a certain depth with them, I'll catch a whole lot more. My buddy in his long sleeved patented button down oxford and jeans and me in my well worn straw hat. We both need to join weight watchers. smile

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

I'm a big boy, my buddy is a REAL big boy. We both fished from the front deck.

Find us some good water, and we'll give it a try. I'm not gonna waste my time trying to pull crankbaits on Guntersville. It would be similar to trying to pull them through my hay field.
