I believe I've located a wild honey bee hive in my back yard. Problem is they have setup house close to ground level, and I'm always cutting and weed eating in the same spot. At first I thought they were yellow jackets, I had a better look today, and it looks to be honey bees.
Is there such a thing as moving them to a hive?
If there is any interest I'm in Mobile County.

Thanks

Never seen wild bees in the ground, always a hollow tree. You should be able to smell the honey , BTW.

They're not in the ground but have nested in a hollow area on the bottom side of an old cross tie resting on the ground. The cross tie was used to make a raised garden bed. They are landing on the ground right where the cross tie sits on the ground then flying up in the tie. Didn't smell honey but then my nose was full of dust from cutting grass all day.

Got ya. Yes, they can be moved , might wanta contact a local bee keeper for help. Have a logger friend who gets them when he finds them in the woods.

Yes. Interested ! Where at in mobile. Sounds fairly easy if in a cross tie.

Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

My phone screen does not always work right, usually a lot of misspelled words....
