Joe4majors OP 14 point Joined: Jan 2014 Posts: 6,614 Lake View, AL	First time to plant sunn hemp at the farm. Only about 25 pounds in 4 small plots of various sizes. Low planting rate because they were mixed with soybeans. Can’t find a bean over 5 inches tall. Sunn hemp is doing well, but only light browsing. Deer probably don’t know what to do with it yet. Planted the last weekend of June. Will try to post more pictures later.

Mine at the farm is only like 3 foot tall. Planted a few much earlier in the backyard just to see what it’s like (first experience with it). It’s best to cut and let regrowth be nice and tender, right? Might do that, but mainly just an experiment to see how the deer respond to it.

That plot really needs soil improvement which is why I planted them. Lots of organic matter and nutrient creation.Usually what I use Sunn Hemp is for screening.
