Shelley is an employee of the Nursing School. No doubt she knew about the abuse and did not report it. According to their rules, she should be fired.

Since there is no football right now this is THE story. It would be THE story anyway but the media would have to share other stories. But just how big of a fallout could come from this?? We all know school, players, and assistants will be affected. What about other schools though?? Meyer gets fired and OSU goes on to beat Michigan. What does that do to Harbaugh?? Already mention of recruits backing off of OSU. How does that help others in the league?? IF Meyer gets fired, it could affect a lot more than OSU.

The real question is where is Kirk Herbstreit during all of this? His beloved suckeyes and Urban he has to be a complete wreck.

Im surprised that Urban can be as much of a jerk as he appears to be with Tebow being such a fan of him. Tebow seems genuine enough that there is no way he would be a friend of Urban if urban is half the scum we all view him to be... That part puzzles me???

I think it is just a matter of how much $$$$$$$$$$$ that he and his wife can get to walk away right now. He will probably show up with a pro team in a year or two.

Urban is enough of a snake oil salesman to dupe Tebow, who has never impressed me as a particularly bright guy. Maybe a good guy, and unable the see or believe the evil in others due to naivety.

Domestic violence when it comes to sports, everybody, for some reason is supposed to be fired. What about the parents of the victim and the husband, they new about it and done absolutely nothing. Are they going to loose their job too? Hell no. To me, the parents need their asses handed to them for not stepping in, early on. Urban should've fired him in 2015, and he will probably loose his job now, but only in sports is everybody else to blame but the people who actually done something wrong.

This is kind of touchy. Not condoning it, but firing someone for an accusation against one of his employees that wasn't really related to work? Do we want to start going there?

Some folks are held to higher standards. Coaches are among those folks, especially those making $6 million a year at one of the biggest institutions and entities in the nation.

The university relies on attendance (students), donors and attempts to mitigate or control damaging issues. This is one of them. LIke any big entity, universities also have their own rules and policies.


When Mike Price was fired at Alabama for his club-stripper-whatever shenanigans, the Board of Trustees was split about it. Several of them did not want to cut him loose, essentially saying he didn't do anything they could prove and it would all blow over since They Were Alabama. That was the gist: we're bigger than this and it'll all blow over and we'll control this. Fortunately, the sane people overruled them and they fired Price, weathered the 3-4 years and came out far better.

Keeping Price would've been disastrous for multiple reasons: loss of trust, fans being unrelenting, media, parents of players and recruiting, donations, overall the donations as UA was trying to build its finances and campus renovations then and future, and at the least having a coach who publicly sullied the name and reputation. So you pay the guy (or don't pay him, depending on the contract language) and move on.

OSU's in that same boat looking at recruiting, donations, constant public ridicule - far worse than a coach with a stripper or whore, like Ol' Goob at Ole Sis - and other considerations. If they fire him they'll move on and be fine. If they keep him, IMO they're asking for a lot of trouble and it won't end well.

I feel the biggest difference as far as being fired is this was in his contract. It was spelled out to him how to handle these situations. If all we are reading is true, he broke the agreement.

He’s now in bigger trouble because he issued a statement via Twitter. He’s not supposed to say anything to anyone while under investigation by the university.

Either they're finding out more and it might get fuglier, or their girding their loins to man battle stations before announcing Urb will return after x-games suspension or something,
